Welcome back Amrita! For those of us who are not too familiar, can you re-introduce yourself to us?
I would love to! I’m an emerging leader and visionary in the women’s sexual healing field and my business is just starting to take off. I co-founded The Sacred Feminine Mystery School in early 2018, and we hold retreats and train teachers in the unique body of work globally celebrated as Sacred Sexual Awakening & Healing®. It’s a safe, sacred, and gentle way for women to access their vitality and their passion for life, and to create empowered relationships. I’m an award-winning, bestselling author of two books, Reclaiming Aphrodite-The Journey to Sexual Wholeness and Dancing with Breast Cancer-The Sacred Feminine Path to Wholeness as well as a contributor to two additional books.
Can you take us through the last 6 months of progression since we last spoke?
This last 6 months has seen a huge dream realised! I’ve recently completed facilitation and graduation of my first Certified Spiritual Sexual Educator 6-month Women’s Teacher Training and have my first group of Licensed Teachers. These are exceptional women who are on the leading edge of the women’s sexual empowerment revolution.
How has your typical day changed, if it has at all?
To be perfectly honest, I’ve worked 60-70 hours a week over the past year to get this school launched, and I know that’s unsustainable. I’ve turned my attention to more self-care and I’m making sure I have enough downtime to fill my own cup. I’m well aware that I can’t not give from empty, no matter how much energy and vitality I have, and I have a great deal!
Have you since raised any funding, expanded your team or reached any new milestones you set out to?
I hired an assistant/bookkeeper in 2018, a brilliant woman who is passionate about the work I’m doing. She will be part of the next Certified Spiritual Sexual Educator program as well. Certainly, having my first Licensed Teachers is a huge milestone that I’m very proud of. I’ve been working with a business coach, a web designer, and a social media support person as well.
What is your current business philosophy?
I hold a vision of a feminine-centric business that brings prosperity and abundance to everyone who is called to be part of it. I’m creating a business that will outlive its Founders and that will bring healing and wholeness to the planet. We put people first and profits second. I believe I’m creating a new feminine paradigm for business and I’m learning as I go what that means and what it looks like.
Is your business plan still reflective of your business as of today, and have you stuck to your original business model?
Yes, absolutely! My business is very new and still blossoming, but I continue to bring the principles and values of The Sacred Feminine into everything I do. A big part of that is the embodiment. Rather than making every decision from my head, I make sure that I’m checking in with the rest of my body as well. Our bodies carry so much wisdom that we’re really not taught to access. It’s the feminine way and one that can benefit everyone, no matter their gender.
Have you encountered any challenges or faced any business building barriers since we last spoke? If so, what did have you done to override them?
My biggest challenge is making sure I take care of myself and don’t over-give. It’s been a lifelong issue and was my big breast cancer wake-up call. I’m seeking guidance and council on this matter regularly and reminding myself that everything does not have to be done right this moment. It’s okay to roll things out slowly.
Are you seeking any new professional mentorship or guidance for 2019?
I’ve been working with a mentor that I respect very highly, Rachael Jayne Groover of Art of Feminine Presence. She is modelling for me what it looks like to be successful and to reach a global audience. I feel like I have great support from my professional team right now, and I look forward to seeing who else comes forward to help me continue to move to the next level of possibility!
If you could step into the shoes of any other influential leader who would it be?
I would have to say, Rachael Jayne Groover. She walks her talk and I respect her so much.
One key piece of advice for starting a business in today’s world?
It’s an inside game. If you have old beliefs about money and success that don’t serve you, pull them up by the root. Otherwise, they will undermine and sabotage your best efforts.
How are you continuing to redefine success?
Success looks like a planetary shift reaching critical mass: an ongoing reduction in sexual violence, childhood sexual abuse, and sex trafficking; sexual education that is life-affirming, truthful, shame-free, and respectful of the sacredness of our bodies; a world in which our sexual energy is recognised as sacred.
Finally, what can we expect from you next throughout 2019 and what is your main focus?
My main focus is training teachers to teach weekend workshops in Sacred Sexual Awakening & Healing® so that this unique and precious body of work can make its way to the people who need it. I start the next teacher training in early November, and I’ll be teaching some weekends myself as well to introduce the work.
