1. What are you working on at the moment?
I am excited to be preparing a course for parents about how to support their children who are addicted to gaming and screen time. I aim to both educate and support parents about the benefits and perils of excessive screen time. I’m really passionate about parents feeling empowered and in control of how to navigate the technology in their families’ lives and by doing so be able to model and encourage a healthy relationship with technology.
2. Why did you decide to work in your current career field?
I always knew that I wanted to work with people to try and solve their problems. When I was in secondary school, I remember speaking to my careers teacher about wanting to be a paediatrician and being very much deterred from having such aspirations. But when I look back now, I see life has come full circle because I am working with children and supporting the adults around them to ensure they reach their full potential.
3. Which entrepreneur inspires you?
Oooh, there are so many! I think first and foremost it would be my mother, although she worked a day job, she always had an entrepreneurial spirit which involved her successfully pursuing a range of projects. Looking further afield I would say historically Madame C.J Walker, a force to be reckoned with, in her time. She did not knock down doors she built her own industry. I love her story.
4. The secret to your success?
I think it has been my passion for psychology and learning new ways to use it to bring about positive solutions for my clients.
