5 Tips To Motivate Female Entrepreneurs To Get The Job Done By Sheena Yap Chan

The pandemic has forced most women to work from home which can be challenging especially when you have to wear many hats such as entrepreneur, wife and mother.  You go through burnout because you have so many things you have to do at the same time which doesn’t motivate you to work at all.

Here are 5 tips to motivate female entrepreneurs to get the job done by Sheena Yap Chan, a Keynote speaker, coach, international bestselling author and award-winning podcaster on building self confidence.

Focus on one thing at the time

Most people think you can get things done faster by trying to do 5 things at the same time but in reality that doesn’t help you get the job done. You end up making more mistakes, your energy is drained and your focus is split apart from all the tasks that you have to do at one time.  It is actually better to focus on one project at a time.  When you can finish one project, you feel alot better and you end up having more energy to tackle the next project.

Have a morning routine

Most successful people have a morning routine to start their day right. Some people make their bed, listen to positive audio in their sleep or meditate. Because everyone is different, you get to choose what works for you.

Use tools to automate some of the  process that does not require manual labour

There are so many tools on the internet that you can use to automate some of the processes that can eliminate manual labor so that you have more time to get the job done. Tools such as an online scheduler, Google calendar and an email responder can really get things done in one click.  If you can invest in tools to make your job easier, do it.  Your future self will thank you for it.

Block distractions as much as you can

Working from home can mean more distractions so it will be more challenging for you to get motivated to get the job done.  There are apps that can help you block yourself from looking at your phone and focus on your work.

Taking breaks is essential

It’s important to carve out some time to take a break and have some “me time.”   If you constantly keep working, you will tire yourself out and have burnout. Not only your body needs a break but your mental well being needs a break as well.  You can block out 30 minutes to 1 hour where you can do whatever you choose to do whether it’s to read a book or just watch TV.  That is time that is sacred to you!

Here’s a bonus tip…

Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you can. Most of the time, women are so afraid to ask for help because they think it’s a sign of weakness or it’s considered shameful. You don’t have to do everything yourself and if there is someone who can give you support, take it so you have the time and motivation to get the job done.
