Lebanese life coach and passionprenur Hiba El Ayal is trying to reach as many people as possible through her speaking platforms to help them all live a life full of passion and also contributes to the world offering select clients a step by step guide to finding more pleasure & purpose in life.
Extremely passionate about education & the role it plays in our own self-development, Hiba has crossed continents to follow her passion in both education & speaking. By gaining her bachelor’s degree in biology from Beirut Arab University back in 2009, this has allowed Hiba to build a diversified portfolio of experience across a variety of multinational corporate pharmaceutical companies.
As a graduate of Unleash the power within- a Tony Robbins signature event in Excel, Hiba most recently joined Andy Harrington’s Professional Speakers’ Academy and has since certified as a professional public speaker. We talk to Hiba about the path she has chosen to lead and why she feels its important to influence individuals to be the best version of themselves.
Hey Hiba, can you introduce yourself to us?
Allow me to take you through a quick introduction of myself, so I am a Lebanese lady who was born in UAE & then moved to Lebanon when I was 10 due to my parent’s divorce, hence I was raised to learn things the hard way out of my comfort zone.
I struggled in order to really become a role model for my family to follow because I was the first lady to graduate from university in my family even under a very difficult financial & social situation.
I hold a bachelor degree in Biology and I have worked in different industries in Lebanon, I moved to Dubai in 2011 to start my corporate career where I found it was fulfilling for six years. However, I decided to take a self-discovery journey where I quit that job and traveled to London to study public speaking. It is from there I have created my step by step guide to help individuals unleash their happiness potentials. Now, I am a passionpreneur, life coach & an influential speaker.
Can you tell us a little bit about your career background prior to becoming a motivational speaker & entrepreneur?
In Lebanon I started my career in real estate where I started building my personality in sales, then I also worked in a school & a pharmaceutical company for a while,
My huge leap was when moved to Dubai in 2011 and started my pharmaceutical career as a medical representative & worked for three companies where I had to visit doctors and educate them on pharmaceutical products in order to prescribe for their patients. I was awarded several times and I think as an employee that was the ultimate goal.
However, during the last three years, I have spent my weekends in self-development workshops and worked in several network marketing industry relying on the powerful word of mouth tool. I have since discovered a whole new world I wasn’t aware of before called “ entrepreneurship” So, you will never ever find me satisfied doing one thing!
In April 2017, you graduated from Tony Robbins’ signature event Unleash the Power Within, can you tell us more?
Yes, this was a lifetime experience for me because I was always inspired by Tony Robbins videos & teachings and I always had the dream of seeing him in action. The place was full of extremely high energy vibrations music and included 10,000 attendees all hungry to see Tony to be able to learn from him.
Personally, I enjoyed the process of Fire Walking where you walk on hot coals and it is all due to the state mind. It was meant to show us how we can dance with our fears instead of letting our fears weigh us. These four days were full of exercise & process that helps you burst your old limiting beliefs & replace them with empowering once. Now, I am so grateful for this experience because of its countless blessings.
You also recently became certified as a professional public speaker at Andy Harrington’s Professional Speakers’ Academy. What do you take away from that experience that you are applying now?
We speak every day, right? So now I dare to speak in public as I speak to myself. I also use this skill that I learned to inspire individuals (most especially entrepreneurs) to have the right mindset to pursue their own visions.
As I have also used it to deliver an impactful message to the young generation to help them choose a career wisely that aligns with their passion. A lot of people in the Arab world don’t speak their minds because of fear of judgment. I just decided to turn the volume up louder so hopefully, it reaches any person suffering from limiting thoughts and helps them to understand they are not alone.
Now you are coaching your own clients based on a system that you created, can you tell us a little bit more in-depth about this system?
I have created a step by step guide that helps you find your happiness potentials and here I don’t mean that I will find your happiness. Actually, I will be able to guide you through a process that will help you not to settle & keep on searching for things that makes you come alive.
I will guide you on how to be aware of your belief system and take you through a powerful positioning practice that will force you to become an action taker. Moving forward from this, you will be able to associate your actions with the right people & ideas and finally, you will be able to learn how not to quit in life and instead learn how to rest referring to three different practices in this chunk of the system.
Can you us what is the most seminal point in your career so far?
I believe that everything is relative in life and with due respect to me being able to generate income from an idea that I brainstormed with my best friend Sahar on a piece of paper on the evening back on exactly the 25th of December 2016.
Becoming well established in my field and having graced the very well-reputed platform Ministry Of Education in UAE & many other Arab innovation platforms in almost less than one year remains very special to me.
Any challenging times you have had to overcome? When were they and how did you learn to overcome them?
The most challenging period for me was when I ran out of financial resources in September 2017. Although I was generating income from my own name, my liabilities and expenses were much higher than I could afford. The most difficult decision I had to make was to go back to a daytime job.
The difficulty lied in all the bullying I had to endure that happened over that time frame, with everyone questioning my ‘success’ on a daily basis. I learned to refocus my energy on working & running the financial engine again so I could act out of abundance, not scarcity. Now, I am pursuing both my dream & my career. In that exact period, what I learned was NOT to change the goal, but to be flexible in my strategy towards achieving my dream.
Have you ever had to deal with any doubts of contention or lack of support from relatives or friends? If so how did you push through?
Since childhood both and my brother were the cornerstone of each other because we were raised single-handedly by our dad so of course, we will always love each other no matter what happens. Eventually, we had to grow up and had face life on our own and I found I was hit by so many judgmental people that instead of supporting me, they support their own fears and would use me as a scapegoat for that.
I have reached a point now that other peoples opinion do not affect me anymore and what really helps me to push through is to know that they don’t see what I see and they do not share the same vision. It is my responsibility and mission to show them that I am a living example that are many other ways of doing things.
Having had a personal coach Jean-Pierre De Villiers, how has this benefitted you?
I would refer to this period as the catalyst period, JP knew how to show me my past experience in a way that leads me to be the totally independent person I am today. JP also inspired the confidence within me and helped me to master the art of being myself unapologetically. He also helped me pursue my speaking career by giving me a chance to break this fear in front of his audience.
What outlets do use to market yourself?
I use my Facebook & Instagram mainly to brand myself as I find it is a very powerful tool for getting me a lot of opportunities. I think social media right now is helping me get more aligned with the right opportunities I am looking for.
Which methods are you using to build your audience and expand your network?
I work with organisations that run educational & inspirational setups so I always show up at gatherings for like-minded people who via word of mouth recommend me to new clients.
What is the best piece of advice you have received to date?
“Forget what you have done yesterday, just take action today and don’t settle.”
What would you tell your 18-year-old self?
To be patient, be yourself and never ever allow anyone to put you down.
Which other female pioneers do you also admire and why?
Oprah, because she a person who leaves a good impact on the society and inspires ladies to be themselves pursue their dreams. She reminds me of my grandma who gave me unconditional love. I also admire both Lady Diana and Lisa Nichols.
What Youtube or online space channels are you watching currently?
Of course Tony Robbins, Marie Forleo and Lisa Nichols & many meditation channels.
What is a good article or book you have read recently?
‘The EXTRA-Ordinary CEO’ ( how to win at business & life ) by Jean Pierre De Villiers
What does success look like in your eyes?
Being able to do what I love every day.
What does #BEYOUROWN mean to you?
It is a supportive online platform for women with a vision and really back up the female empowerment in today’s society.
Lastly, what is next for you throughout 2018?
It might take a bit longer, however,r I am working on finishing and publishing my book this year.
