In Kathy Dalton’s 20 years in the communication marketing industry, she’s seen first hand the shift in how we communicate and build communities. Believing that now is an incredible time to connect with our core demographics.
As an entrepreneur, Kathy experienced the need to find creative solutions to small business related problems. As a blogger and influencer over the last 12 years, shes also built relationships with other influencers and feel like she has a deeper understanding of both sides of the table.
Kathy has aided app launches, held book launch parties, created dozens of brand ambassador programs, created influencer events for brands like McDonald’s, Cirque du Soleil, Topgolf and Intermountain Healthcare all while telling authentic stories and creating long-term relationships.
Hey Kathy, can you introduce yourself to us?
I was born in Odense, Denmark and live in the foothills of Salt Lake City with my husband, 3 children, and dog. We’re living the dream. Our goal is to ski each weekend in the winter and camp each weekend in the spring, summer, and fall.
Can you take us through your journey to where you are now?
My career started out of college with a degree in communication marketing and worked in advertising and product development, and public relations. Over the past 20 years, I’ve witnessed first hand how the way we communicate and connect has shifted dramatically. I’ve served on the social media club board for Salt Lake City, write for Ski Utah and serve on the Silicon Slopes board for digital media creators.

How much research did you do on the market prior to launching Dalton Consultancy?
I’ve been in the marketing industry for the last 20 years and have been consulting on the side for the last 5 years. The shift to full-time consulting came seamlessly.
Can you tell us more about the brand DNA and ethos of Dalton Consultancy?
Dalton Consulting is an influencer marketing agency where our mission is to connect brands and influencers. In addition, we offer business consulting and coaching, media outreach, event sponsorship coordination, and content creation.
Can you give us 3 tips to help us create a meaningful brand?
- Create a style guide and stick to it, it doesn’t matter if you have a brand yet no one in the office sticks to it.
- Consistency, make sure everything internal and external is on brand.
- Be sure to share your style guide with your vendors and partners.
Where can you see yourself within the next 5 years?
I’d love to organically grow and continue to help others and do good.

What challenges have you seen to have been presented during the growth of Dalton Consultancy?
We did a soft launch and have had such a great response, I haven’t had a chance to officially launch.

Michelle Obama, I love her quote “they were women who knew their voices and were unafraid to use them.”
