Thank you for interviewing with us today, can you introduce yourself to us?

Thanks for having me. My name is Funmi Olutile and I’m a launch strategist and business coach in business fundamentals. Many people agree that I’m a funnels and automation expert when it comes to building and launching a website that converts, digital courses and memberships. Personally, I am married and have two teenage daughters 18 and 14.

Can you take us through your journey to where you are now?

I started my online business in 2015 after a major financial set back in my family. My first online business was a fashion store and I remember my 11 year old daughter at the time teaching me how to use Instagram! It was quite a successful venture but then came along my interest in business coaching. I got my certifications, registered my business in my home country and things took off gradually.

I really needed the experience and in the process of doing a lot of freelance work, I found a hosting platform that I was very comfortable with. Kajabi had everything I wanted in my business and before long, I became an expert in it and started to help other service professionals with their Kajabi products and services. Today, my business employs a small team of 4 and we have completed work for people in many countries of the world.

Since starting, have you made any changes to your business model?

I would answer yes because we keep improving things in my world. Always a learner is my personal mantra. We have developed quite a number of additional services along the way primarily because they are complimentary and it just makes sense for the next level for our clients.

Have you ever had a mentor? If so how has this benefitted you either personally or professionally?

Yes I have had a number of mentors. There is a saying that you can’t see the color of your own eyes! Having personal and business mentors has helped pave a less stressful path to success for me. Personally being a mentee has helped me develop my soft skills of empathy, leadership and patience and professionally mentorship has helped me reclaim who I am and hone in on my skills with confidence.

What outlets do use for marketing?

I use social media to promote my products and services. I do also get a good number of referrals sent my way and this has greatly. Improved our business on the overall.

Which methods are you using to build your own support network?

I run free and valuable content to my tribe and the truth is when people receive value from you and at the same time you show up in their world authentically and with integrity, they will want to be around you. Finally, I take time to connect with people, comment on their posts, celebrate their wins and even empathize with them when things are not going the way they should. A combination of all the above is the what has worked for me.

What is the best piece of business advice you have received to date?

That one is easy as I have kept it in my heart all these years and it is: There is nothing like overnight success. Behind the success is a lot of blood, sweat and grind. This stands as a constant reminder that I should never play that comparison game whereby I start to compare my progress to another persons. If you haven’t worn those shoes, you can’t understand where it pinches.

To capture it all In my culture, there is a saying that you shouldn’t use someone else’s wristwatch to determine your own time.

How do you create an evenly balanced work and personal life?

It wasn’t always easy. I was practically in Hustle mode all of the time and hardly had any time for myself and family. Self care was not a word I was familiar with as I worked non stop even long into the night at times. Now I do take most Saturdays off. I watch more Netflix in a week than I did in my entire first year of business. I also now have a small team that supports my business so things are definitely easier.

Name a seminal point in your career so far?

Unsure

What gives you ultimate career satisfaction?

Unsure

Are there any leading entrepreneurs or SME leaders that you admire and if so, why?

Indeed, I do admire quite a number of brilliant minds. These are women who understood the assignment and have continued to inspire me through their work and continuously raise the bar as to what is possible. Some of them are my clients and some of them my coaches.

How do you define your own success?

I measure success by comparing me to me. So I look at things in timeframes say for example what was I struggling with 3 months ago and how much more am I struggling with it now? Even If I am not at 100% yet, as long as there has been progress, I consider it successful. For someone who was always hard on herself, this is a lot of growth.

Finally, What can we expect from you this year?

This year a lot of things have already started to unfold. I am currently running a 100 days free visibility to cash challenge in my Facebook group. I have also launched my membership product called Business Hub Online. This is for entrepreneurs who have determined to make impact, income and visibility in their business. I am feeling really good about both products.
