Hey Rana, how it is all going so far?
Hello! I am very well thank you for having me with you today.
What were the first steps you took to launching your career as a certified life coach?
I am a lawyer by profession and have been practicing for the past 15 years. I woke up one day and told myself that there is More to Life than this. I woke up and knew that my Purpose now is “ to make one person happier a day.”
That was in summer 2017 and since then I launched MoreLifebyRana App, it is an inspirational App that you can download for Free From Apple and Google Stores to receive your daily inspirational quotes right on your phone. I have trained by one of the best coaches in this field and since then I am spreading awareness and the knowledge of every single day.
How has the journey been so far?
It is a beautiful journey. I am very committed to my purpose and for me, life itself is something we need to celebrate daily. I wake up every day in gratitude that I have been granted another day to have an impact, help and spread kindness and love to this world and universe.
You are also an NLP Practitioner and Hypnotist, what other training did you undertake?
Due to my profession as a lawyer and my vast experience in the corporate work, I work with leadership on strategies, culture, and empowerment in the workplace especially with women and how can we achieve work-life balance and break any ceilings in the corporate work. This helps me tremendously in my life coaching sessions accompanied by all the experiences that I have encountered in life. I am a true believer that pieces of training and certificates are great ad-on’s for your developments and growth, but LIFE itself with all its experiences, ups and downs and challenges is the best venue to train you and make you the person you want to be.
You focus on a lot of areas of expertise ranging from offering relationship advise, self-healing and also helping people to break old habits, which is your favourite are to specialise in?
To keep it real as I am a big promoter of realness and authenticity, for me as long as I can help, have an impact and see the difference on people’s lives, every topic, and area of help will be my favourite. There is nothing in this world can come close to the feeling of satisfaction when you see the breakthrough on other people’s faces and see the light of hope in their eyes. I always wish that I have a time machine to stop this moment in time!
You’ve spoken openly that you were previously down by the negativity that was surrounding you until you learned the right techniques to break through and transform. Are you helping others with the use of these techniques that you applied to yourself?
Yes, a couple of years ago, like most people we see nowadays, I was blaming everything and everyone for the circumstances at that time. I was blaming anything and everything except for myself, until I realised I am the only one who can take control of my own life and how I want it to be. I started reading, reading and reading. One of the most important techniques that I used and still, which has also been taught in all religions, is the power of gratitude.
I have started every day being thankful and took the decision to train my mind to switch and think of all positive things I have which are plenty. Gratitude saved me and gratitude can save so many lives. Writing everyday things you are thankful for will train your mind to think of the positive. You cannot find a grateful person and at the same time have a negative thought.
There are specific techniques as well I use to clear all the 5 negative emotions we have and any limiting beliefs. A specific script will be used to take the client over what we call they’re: “Life TimeLine” and clear those packages of negative emotions that weigh them down.
What is the best advice you have received recently?
That it is ok to take some time to relax and switch off. Seriously I used to feel guilty if I wanted to take some time off, and spend some me time. Until I realised it is the best thing that I can do for myself. Being selfish sometimes is necessarily to be able to give selflessly. If you are drained from inside, you cannot give to the outside.
Best advice you can give to someone?
To love yourself fully completely and with all your imperfections and flaws because those made you who you are, and no one is you. You are so unique.
Who do you feel is an inspiration to your life?
My faith, love and my connection to God and the Universe inspire me daily. When I see all the creatures on this earth, nature, and beauty of this universe I feel inspired and motivated.
My sons inspire me as well to wake up every day and teach them everyday a thing or two about life and to live each day and make it counts. That is more life.
Every single person who shares the same purpose of impacting, empowering, inspiring and spreading love and kindness to this world inspires me.
Why do you think so many young women have a hard time clearing inner anxious and depressive thoughts without the need for professional help?
Nowadays technology and the competition among all young women to be better, prettier, thinner, cooler and trendy etc. are letting those young women live in continuous anxiety. The young generation is looking for fast solutions to their problems and less time to work on themselves and what they want to be in their lives.
They are losing their identities most of them and not living in alignment with their values and morals, and this is number one reason for anxiety and depressive thoughts. I am urging young women to be patient with themselves and kind to themselves first then to others. Stop judging yourself and start having this kind loving affair with who you are as a person.
Talk, speak up and spend quality time with your family and friends. They are your number one support system. Surround yourself with people who inspire you and let you be who you want to be without any judgment.
What seems to be the common underlying issue?
Childhood issues and fear of being judged. So many people living their day-to-day life carrying childhood emotional package. At one point in their lives someone they trust and love told them you are not good enough, and they have spent their whole lives trying to prove the opposite to everyone else and mostly to themselves. That is why what and how we speak to our children now will stick to them for a long time. We need to be mindful of what we are currently planting in our children’s subconscious mind.
What has been the winning moment in your personal life for you so far?
When I won myself. When I made peace with who I am and what I want to be and become. The winning moment is when I truly love myself and feel full inside regardless of what the outside world feels or portrays of me. That is for me what is winning is all about! At the end of the day, we are our first and best admirers and enemies at the same time. No battle is harder than the one within.
If you could travel back in time what would you do again?
Spending more time with people I love and not stressing about the outcome of things rather enjoying the beautiful journey to reach that end result.
Have you at any point throughout your career trajectory had self-doubt?
Of course, it is a normal feeling especially when we are faced with change. Change scares people and lets them doubt their decisions at some point In time. The trick here is to monitor yourself when you have those negative thoughts of self-doubt creeping, be mindful of those self-sabotaging thoughts and related emotions, observe them and let go of them as soon as possible.
It is normal to have negative thoughts and emotions every now and then, but what differentiates happy positive people from others is that they train their minds to switch quickly from negative to positive thoughts rather than unpack in that dark zone for so long, long enough that they forget how
positivity feels like.
How have you rallied through that?
Reminding myself daily of why I am doing what I am doing. Reminding myself of my purpose, that is enough by itself to motivate and inspire me again and kick any self-doubt in the b***.
Back to business, what are your goals for the next few months and how are you striving to achieve them?
I have in my agenda for this year several coaching events to look forward to. We are working with one of the governmental institutes to coach and train women specifically in relation to self-esteem, finding happiness and confidence in their day-to-day work and building successful personalities both at work and at home. I am as well continuing my one on one sessions with clients, and will be focusing more on my writings. There should be a surprise coming next year!
What does success look like in your eyes?
Success is when my values, what I do, what I talk about and how I feel about that are all in alignment. When my mind, heart, body, and soul are all in sync.
What does it mean to you to truly #BEYOUROWN?
To be your authentic self and to own it fully. There is nothing more beautiful and powerful than a woman who is not afraid to show the world her true self. That is empowerment at its finest.
What else is on the horizon for 2018 for you?
I am a person who is driven by curiosity and wonder. I wake up every day with this energy and eagerness to learn, grow and know more about life and people.
I know that the universe always works in alignment with our intentions. Therefore 2018 is already a golden breakthrough year as I have set my intentions for this year to be like this. The journey has just started, I buckled myself up and I am currently enjoying every step of this journey.
