Hey Tracy, can you introduce yourself to us?

Outside of what my bio tells you, I am also a mother of 3 magnificent teenage daughters who keep me on my toes, a wife to an incredibly supportive husband, a sister to the other 2 parts of my heart, a daughter to a proud dad and to my unparalleled mother – may she rest in peace, an aunt to the best nieces & nephews, a friend to the most encouraging crew a girl can ask for.I’m a humanist and love all people & a happiness junkie.

One of my favourite things to do is throw parties and stay up until the wee hours of the night having deep conversations and laughing until my face hurts. I love all things soft and mushy.  I love nature and being barefoot is my preferred footwear.  I have an obsession with watching cooking & baking reality competition TV shows, but never make a thing, lol, like ever.  Being domestic is not a priority for me.  But my “mom-ing” is on point.

Can you take us through your journey to where you are now?

I could start with I was born on May 15, 1977, in Brooklyn, NY but I’ll skip right to what brought me to the work I do in this world. Everything was fine. There was not outside of reason to make a change. I was the VP of People & Culture for a healthcare consulting firm and all was well, sort of. I wasn’t well on the inside. I was going to through the motions, checking the boxes, staying safe.

My gut was gnawing at me, in truth it had been gnawing for a couple years. I had a gift of helping people and a deep desire to help others in a meaningful, life-changing way. I had researched therapy, coaching, and other healing modalities.  I had chosen the school I would pick, did my diligence and daydreamed about it and did nothing.

But I stayed at work. I stayed because I was scared. Every time I almost said yes to going to back to school and going out on my own, I shrunk back into “it’s fine.” I rationalised it. I have a good job, I make good money, it’s flexible. They like me and I like them.

Slowly I was dying inside. I knew I had the capacity, I knew I could do it, I could do anything. What I didn’t realise at the time, is that fear played a role in getting me to not pull the trigger, therefore, held me back into my comfort zone.

Fear sounded like: “Do you actually think you can do this? What if it doesn’t work? What if you invest in school and all of this and it amounts to nothing?  What if your not as good as you think you are?  What if no one hires you?  This is a huge risk, are you sure this is a good idea?”

Then one magnificent night in January, I was sitting on a balcony overlooking the ocean. In stillness with myself. I was quiet enough that I could hear myself say, “Do it, Tracy, it’s time, you were made for this.”

I got up from the chair, walked inside the hotel room, opened my laptop and emailed the coaching school and enrolled. Boom! I wasn’t going down that like.I realised, through learning what fear was all about, I’d taught myself how to fall in love in with it. It’s never stood in my way since.

What is a day in the life of you like?

If it’s the weekend, I’m sleeping in until 10 or 11 am, yes I am a rockstar sleeper. Typically, a weekday, I’m up at 6:30am to drive my girls to school.  As soon as I wake up before my feet touch the floor I say “thank you,”  to the universe, me, my abundant life. Then I head to the bathroom, do my morning stuff which always includes a conversation with myself in the mirror. Usually, it sounds like, “Hey gorgeous, I love you. You’re doing awesome things in the world. There’s nothing we can’t do.” Then I do my mindset work & meditation.

Depending on the day, I get to spend time in sessions with my private clients, create great content, do masterclasses or office hours in my mastermind, jump on FB live to serve, write a chapter or section of my book (coming in spring of 2019).

Somedays I run or workout in my garage. Then by afternoon, I’m cheering a kid on and screaming at the refs at a volleyball or basketball game, (it’s the only place in my life that I’m not zen!) Or watching them in a dance show. By nightfall, I’m hanging with my husband, watching a show, enjoying just being.

I’m a night owl, so sometimes I’ll go back and work, which truly never feels like work, so I want to find a new name for it.

As a coach, can you tell us the importance of making that investment back into yourself whether it be for happiness, our joy, or extraordinary satisfaction?

We weren’t raised to see that “investing” in ourselves as a value. It’s not the culture we were brought up in. So I appreciate this question, it’s everything. Everyone, everyone, deserves a coach. We are either growing or dying. We were meant to learn, evolve and change, and you cannot do that without support.

A coach helps you find your blind spots, teaches you how to think differently, how to see your world differently. They are your cheerleader, your co-creator, your person. They will tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. Investing in yourself will give you the biggest ROI of anything in your life.

We love the title of your guide ‘Cut the Crap & Step Into Your Power,’ so without giving away too much from the guide are you able to talk to us a little bit about it?

Thank you! I love it too because everyone needs to cut the crap! The philosophy behind it is that to have more, it’s about having less. It’s about giving things up, not adding things on. It’s about releasing the habits and behaviors that are keeping you from your greatness.

We dive into things like giving up your excuses, giving up not putting yourself first, giving up expectations and control, giving up taking everything so seriously.  The guide walks you through 3 Main Shifts, which is only the beginning of ‘Cut the Crap & Step Into Your Power Audio Course’ which teaches & coach’s you through 17 shifts! It’s a foundational course in anyone growth journey.

Could you give 3 quick fix tips on how we can start moving in the direction we really want to?

1. Radical personal responsibility, which means no more excuses, reason, justifications or rationalisations. You are both the problem & the solution. If you don’t choose this, nothing will ever really change.

2. Increase your awareness and create space, breathe deeply and slowly, raise your consciousness. If you aren’t aware of it, you can’t change it.

3. You get to choose. Everything is based on your power of choice. There is not one thing going on in your life, business, relationships, that isn’t based on your ability to choose. The most important of which is your power to choose what you think. Don’t believe everything you think.

Who does the team involve behind you at The Litt Factor?

Outside of my incredibly supportive family of course. Me, my mindset coach and my book coach – I always have a coach.  If you are a coach or a female business owner and don’t have a coach, stop reading and go hire one right now. I also have 3 lady boss assistants and a bunch of talented people as needed for various things.

Where can you see yourself within the next 3-5 years?

Doing what I do now, but with the gift of serving thousands and thousands more, then millions and millions. Hosting 3 day transformational live events, & intimate, deep-dive retreats, hosting a talk show.  Speaking and inspiring the masses on stages everywhere.  So exciting, event typing this answers sends energy through my body.

What strategies do you have in place when looking at the expansion of The Litt Factor?

To always take the lessons and apply them. To always have a coach. To always ask for help.  To always honor my boundaries. To always do what feels good in my body. To always have a team and grow the team. That’s as much of a strategy as I have.

Can you tell us what areas you have struggled in professionally?

Not getting sucked up in what everyone else is doing. Truly and consistently trusting myself and my instincts, I’m much better at that now, because I made some beautiful mistakes that netted huge lessons.

Have you ever had any other mentor? If so how has this benefitted you to grow?

Always having a coach. I know I’m a broken record, but it’s true. As soon as you invest in yourself, you think differently, you show up differently.

What outlets do use to market The Litt Factor?

Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube. I speak everywhere. From 20 people in the back of a Cheesecake Factory to 400 people in a ballroom. Local in-person workshops and seminars. Podcast interviews and then occasional articles and columns in publications.

Which methods are you using to build your own support network?

I interpret this as a personal support network. I have the most incredible support network in the world.

What do you believe are the common misconceptions about being an entrepreneur?

The amount of patience it requires. Really understanding that if you are here to build some sustainable, far-reaching and impactful, patience has to be cultivated and applied.

How much of a personal growth journey it truly is. It is far greater than the business. As an entrepreneur, your business comes out of you, and when you embark on the journey, all of your shit comes flying up. Shit, you didn’t even know you had. It is the biggest call to growth there will ever be. It shines a light on your blocks, your beliefs, your perceived limits, your relationship with yourself. Which is exactly what the work I do in the world. The work of you. Self-mastery is the key.

What would you like to see changed for millennials in business?

I’m not a millennial, so based on my perception, I would say more human to human, face to face connection. Slowing down, creating space.

What is the best piece of business advice you have received to date?

You have a choice, you either take the lesson or keep the pain.

What is the number 1 critical lesson you have learned in your career so far?

All of this is temporary. Keep it light!

How do you create an evenly balanced work and personal life?

I don’t believe in even balance. I don’t think it’s a thing, I believe in focusing where ever I am, with whoever I am with, doing whatever I’m doing.

The highlight of your career so far?

Fun question! Probably being booked for my first huge keynote speech.  It once was a dream, now it’s reality.

What gives you ultimate career satisfaction?

The front row seat I get to my client’s transformation. Witnessing the “aha” moments, watching them “get it“, believe in themselves and create lives and businesses they are obsessed with. It’s the best. I cry all the time.

What challenges have you seen to have been presented during the growth of The Litt Factor?

Choosing the right support, from the right people.

What is a good article or book you have read recently?

I love ‘Breaking The Habit Of Being Yourself’ by Dr. Joe Dispenza.

What does your Podcast playlist look like?

It’s all over the place. I used to be the lead singer in a rock and roll band, so I’m a music lover. It’s everything from Sarah McLaughlin to Led Zeppelin to Tribe Called Quest to Fleetwood Mac to The Bangles to Florence and the Machine to 80’s Punk, Hip Hop and 90’s rock.

How do you measure your own terms of success?

Based on how I feel. Based on how many hours of the day I spend in high vibe, high state feelings, and emotions. That’s what we’re all after, the feeling. Feeling the way want to feel.

What does #BEYOUROWN mean to you?

I love and connect to this because it’s a huge part of my work. It means to be your unapologetic, take me or leave me, self. And that’s the way to experience a life you love!

Lastly, what is next for The Litt Factor?

Lots of things, lots of big things, so keep hanging out with me and you’ll find out.
