While we build businesses, stress can sometimes build with it. Your ‘to-do list’ becomes as long as your days. Your workload is as full as your calendar. You start with an early morning appointment, then a meet-up with clients, then lunch, then a conference call with the content team, then outreach, then another meeting, later strategising the marketing plan, followed by finishing that report, before making that fifth coffee of the day…..

Breathe. Relax, here are some tips for you:

Find 5 minutes to visualise

Whether you are in the bathroom or at your office desk, it really pays to take 5 minutes out of your day at least twice a day to sit and visualise your long term plans. Applying this to your daily routine can really help to alter your self-talk, body language and will retrain your brain to think positively towards achieving your aspirations.

Reward calendar

Sometimes completing tasks can feel boring or uninspiring. For those tasks that may take a while, have a reward system in place that you can use to take notes in your journal and track progress.  Just think “if I complete this, I will treat my self to a spa day” or for longer projects, an adventurous weekend holiday to the South of France. Trust me, it does wonders for your mental wellbeing and gives you a sense of excitement.

Listen to motivational speeches

Especially from fellow women! Successful women, who have made it, who know what you are going through. Listen to them daily and it will change your mindset, they are inspiring, and you will learn something new each time! A great one that really set the tone is with Karren Brady.
