Last year might have seen the much-lauded Winter Wonderland event in London cancelled, but it is back this year. From November 19th, 2021, to January 3rd, 2022, everyone’s favourite yuletide destination will return. Albeit with some changes to keep visitors safe. If you’re planning a visit to this years’ event, here’s what you need to consider and plan for first.

This years’ Winter Wonderland event will be ticketed. Helping the event organisers to keep people socially distanced and to track and trace visitors should any Covid-19 outbreaks occur.
Tickets will likely book up fast, so be ready for when they’re released and book fast.
Social distancing
Although social restrictions have been lifted by the UK governments now, it is still important to socially distance form people not in your group while visiting event such as Winter Wonderland. Take a mask to wear when you go inside to use a toilet and keep at least one metre distance from people outside your group.
Getting there
Many visitors travel across the country to visit Winter Wonderland. Luckily, with services like the Bradford to London trains from Yorkshire, it is easy to get there.
The food
Food trucks and stalls dot the event with classics such as burgers and hotdogs and street food delicacies such as churros and more. No matter if you arrived hungry or not, you’ll soon want to tuck into something delicious after a walk by the food vendors at Winter Wonderland.
The drink
One of the biggest draws for large groups to Winter Wonderland are the festive-themed bard selling yuletide-themed drinks. Past favourites hot toddy, mulled wine and warm spiced cider to keep your inebriated and cosy during the cold, damp London winter.
The rides
Whether it’s romantic ice skating under the stars, a thrilling ride on a carousel or a trip in an enclosed-cabin Ferris Wheel, you can do it all at Winter Wonderland.
The market
Everyone loves a German Christmas market, and Winter Wonderland’s is one of the biggest in the UK. You can shop for handmade gifts, winter warming accessories and more as you enjoy the event festivities.
The after party
Once you finish at Winter Wonderland, central London is your oyster. Pop into nearby Mayfair for dinner or head across to Soho for drinks. If it’s still early enough, stroll from Hyde Park to Notting Hill and enjoy the sights and sounds of Portobello Road market. Winter Wonderland might look a little different this year – and with any luck, be less crowded. Yet, with some careful planning and responsibly enjoyed fun, it’ll be just as magical as always.
