Everyone knows her as “Bri” or “Killer B,” but either way Brianna Calhoun has had a huge love for fitness since she was 16 years old. Now being 21 years old, surprisingly most people don’t know that she has already completed a year and a half of her college course at a D1 university UTSA, plus serving up a 2-year sentence as a United States coast guard. However, whilst playing almost every sport you can think of, Brianna has found a brand new love: boxing.
Since dealing with the stress, anxiety, and hostile work environment whilst in the military, Brianna is more than just a “pretty face”— she’s a fighter, passionately thriving on helping others unleash their maximum potential and attest their physical body to new heights that they never envisioned they’d be capable of surpassing.

Just like all of us, Brianna is just trying to be the best version of herself and spread love to everyone she encounters—life is just too short. Quipping “If I could give anyone reading this some advice, it would be to do what you love, surrounded by people whom you love. Be humbled, grateful, and optimistic about life and the challenges it throws at you, and you will be just fine.” Love her already don’t you? Read on, because it only gets better.

Hey, Bri can you introduce yourself to us?

I’m a 21-year-old fitness professional who has served her country and did roughly a year and a half of college time before that. I have a big heart for helping people.

Can you tell us a little bit about you and your career background?

As stated previously, I served in the USCG for 2 years. Aside from that I have worked for property management offices (currently working at one) and took advantage of the opportunity to network and expand my brand by moving out of state. I currently live in FL. Along with that, I’m also a published fitness model, a fitness trainer, aspiring actress, and competitive fighter.

You are also the co-founder of Eldamont Clothing brand, where the fire ignite to want to get into retail?

Aside from me and Elvardo, we have 2 other team members who will also take shares in the company, but I am the CO-founder. I look forward to working together as a team to make a Bohemian product go viral in the US.

The beauty of Eldamont Clothing is that as an independent clothing label, your goal is to establish the manufacturing industry in the Bahamas and to promote Bahamian made products. How do currently promote this concept?

I currently promote the products via word of mouth and my social platforms.

Can you us a really rewarding moment for you in your life?

My rewarding moment was when I graduated the United States Coast Guard Boot Camp and was awarded the top-ranked athlete in my company.

Any challenging times you have had to overcome? When were they and how did you learn to overcome them?

Yes. When I was in college, my mother was struggling with her health (she has Lupus), and was hospitalized frequently. It bothered me that I couldn’t be here to help her, so I didn’t return, but instead went into the Coast Guard where I served a short term, stationed near home, and moved back with her to assist her medical needs rather than remain living on my own.

Have you ever had to deal with any doubts of contention or lack of support from relatives or friends? If so how did you push through?

All the time. Aside from a “day job”, I have been contributing a massive amount of time to the entertainment industry and social media in a constructive way. That’s probably how you found me in the first place. With what I do, it’s so easy for people who weren’t gifted the same talents to tell me that it will never get me anywhere.

But as I’ve been selected to be starring in my first film, become the brand ambassador of a couple fitness brands, and have networked with several dozens of “famous” individuals that my own friends and family idolize, the insults and discouragement have suddenly shifted coincidentally. I just stay true to the course and continue to work hard because I know the potential I have. The opinions of other people who can’t understand your vision will never hold any value or relevance, so just brush it off.

What outlets do use to market the Eldamont Clothing brand?

We have our direct website of course. Other than that, we have physical catalogs. And I use Facebook & Instagram as well.

What is the best piece of advice you have received to date?

“You’ll never know if you can swim if you don’t jump.” It has stuck with me ever since.

Who do you look to for inspiration?

That’s a good one. Probably a toss up between Michelle Obama and Ellen Degeneres.

Are there any great role models or leading entrepreneurs that you feel are doing an awesome job?

Yes. Too many to name. We live in the generation of entrepreneurs. It’s trending now.

Who is on your podcast playlist?

Andy Frisella, Will Smith & John Gray.

What is a good article or book you have read recently?

Think and Grow Rich

What does success look like in your eyes?

Success is staying true to who you are in a world that constantly tries to ridicule you for it. Remaining consistent, working hard, and never giving up. Knockdown an obstacle at a time until you reach your end goal.

What does #BEYOUROWN mean to you?

#BEYOUROWN means to simply be yourself! Do what you love and do what makes YOU happy, nobody else. Don’t let others try to persuade you to compromise who you are for what they want you to be.

Lastly, what is next for you  2018?

I plan on appearing in a few other films and steadily building my credit, reading books, lifting weights as staying my course. By 2019, I want to have a game plan set up to invest in a couple business before I gain the comfort to start my own.
