#BEYOUROWN FOLLOW UP WITH MARIE-EVE COTE

We follow up with Marie-Eve Cote, the graphic designer behind Meve Media. Meve Media creates fresh, vibrant media, graphic designs, written pieces and forms for a unique taste. By graduating in 2007 from Vanier College in a program entitled Micro-publishing and Hypermedia, Marie-Eve obtained knowledge in software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office swell as gaining herself extra knowledge in the fundamentals of business and promotion. We find out what has been in the happening for Marie-Eve in the past 6 months and if her business plan still reflective of Meve Media as of today.

Can you take us through the last 6 months of progression since we last spoke?

Since the last months since we spoke, we tripled our revenue while doing the same for our clients.

How has your typical day changed, if it has at all?

My typical day has changed in ways of being more proactive and balancing my passions for art (painting, dancing, acting) and maintaining the business side to my media business Meve Media.

Have you since raised any funding, expanded your team or reached any new milestones you set out to?

We expanded our team through social media advertisement and B2B events.

What is your current business philosophy?

Work hard and smart. Always work hard and balance leisure, hobbies. Make yourself a list of daily things to get done per day.

Is your business plan still reflective of your business as of today, and have you stuck to your original business model?

We are still following the original business model and it reflects greatly the outcome we are getting. More clients taking notice in our multimedia services. The only difference is that more clients approach us. Without having to chase them down.

Have you encountered any challenges or faced any business building barriers since we last spoke? If so, what did have you done to override them?

We have encountered a few financial challenges, but we managed by cutting down some costs.

Are you seeking any new professional mentorship or guidance for 2019?

We follow other business owners that are already well established. To see new ways to do promotion in 2019. To be more attractive as a multimedia business.

If you could step into the shoes of any other influential leader who would it be?

If I could step into the shoes of any influential leader, it would probably be Ellen Degeneres. She uses her online platform with a passionate and compassionate heart. Always with empathy and kindness.

One key piece of advice for starting a business in today’s world?

In today’s world starting an online business is very effective with so many online groups of various niches. You can easily sell online, living in a technological era. More people can work from home or while travelling.

How are you continuing to redefine success?

I continue to redefine success by not being afraid to fail. Fail Forward and learning from experience and never give up.

Finally, what can we expect from you next throughout 2019 and what is your main focus?

My main focus is growing my business and pushing the envelope to go beyond in 2019. Continue to triple revenue by servicing other entrepreneurs. While living a balanced life to improve ourselves on a personal level in art.
