Hey Cheryl, can you introduce yourself to us?
I’m a woman on a mission to live my life in alignment with my truth and I help others do the same.
I wear many hats in this journey of life. I’m a mama of two amazing kids and loving wife. In my business I’m a Soulful Life & Relationship Coach, Heart Centered Speaker, Inspirational Writer & Connector of people.
What was the start-up process for you like and how did you successfully launch your career as a coach?
The start up process for me was one of deciding I was ready to share my truth and help others become aligned with their own truth.
It began by me putting myself out there with an initial blog post sharing my journey to that point. I offered one on one coaching to assist those that resonated with my story and my first client reached out immediately. She said, “Everything you said is true for me. I feel like I have lost myself. I feel alone. I feel frustrated and resentful. I feel like I am a passenger in my life and not the captain.” We started her coaching program the next day.
The rest of my start up process stayed along the lines of sharing my truth and offering my services ranging from one on one coaching to online courses and retreats.
Can you tell us about your own personal brand?
Real, authentic, genuine & honest.
What 3 tips would you give to help us eliminate negative self-doubt and the limiting beliefs we have in our every day life?
- My first tip would be to allow the self-doubt and limiting beliefs to come in. Don’t try to push them away. Let them come. Witness and observe them and then allow them to flow away. It’s when we try to ignore or fight our self – doubt or limiting beliefs that they have power.
- Secondly, use your conscious thoughts to create the experiences that you want in your life and business. Our thoughts create or experiences, so if we want different experiences, we have the power to choose the thoughts that will create those experiences.
- Lastly, embrace your self-doubt and limiting beliefs, get to know them. Dig into them so that you are conscious of them. Awareness is the starting process in overcoming self-doubt and limiting beliefs. First you must understand what yours are.
Know that everyone has self-doubt and limiting beliefs. The secret sauce is to identify them, feel them, learn about them and then overcome them. And to continue to do this as an on-going practice because new self doubts and limiting beliefs will come up each step along your journey. It’s part of the classroom of life.
What methods are you using to help your clients become aligned with the truth?
One of the main methods I use to help clients become aligned with their truth is to drop out of their heads and into their hearts. We have so much wisdom inside of us that we lock away by going to our minds for the answers.
When we want to live in alignment with our truth, we must first discover what that truth is. This truth can be found in quieting your mind and allowing your intuition to have room to be heard.
Our intuition is our guiding light and holds the answers to the questions we have. If you want to live with ease and flow, cultivating the practice of listening to your intuition is key.
Where can you see yourself within the next 5 years and what plans do you have in place to expand and further develop the growth of your coaching career?
Oh! What a fun question. In the next 5 years I see myself doing what I am doing now. Sharing, teaching, writing, coaching and speaking.
I’ll continue to write books, speak at events, create courses and coach women and couple’s as they navigate through this journey of life and relationships.
The plans for growth in my business are to offer more live events. First off a new Couple’s Conference that will be launching this fall. It will be a magical weekend of couple’s coming together in the pursuit of creating a thriving relationship. I can’t wait! Next Spring we’ll be hosting the second annual Nourish You Women’s Weekend where women come together for a transformational weekend of sisterhood and self care.
In the beginning of my business, I focused on working with women to help them become empowered in their lives. Today, and in the future, that mission has expanded to include helping couples create strong, connected and fulfilling relationships.
What outlets do use to promote your services?
Much of my promotion happens online. My website, weekly blog, you tube, facebook and Instagram. I also have a weekly inspirational newsletter that members receive.
I offer a great deal of free resources from blogs to videos, guides and challenges that allow people to experience how I work and the results they can experience.
What challenges have you seen to have been presented during the growth of your career?
So many of the challenges that I’ve faced have been overcoming my own limiting beliefs and self doubt. Each time I do something new, launch a course, write and publish a book etc, I am presented with the requirement of upleveling in order to prepare myself for the vulnerability that comes with sharing my truth and putting myself out there.
Each time, I am presented with the challenge to grow. To not go and hide and never share my work with the world. Each time I am called to step more and more into my truth and trust that what has come through me is meant to be shared with the world and my self doubt and negative beliefs are just resistance.
Another challenge I have faced is realising that I can’t do everything myself. Seeking support from others in both my life and business has been instrumental in allowing me to have the capacity to grow in my business while balancing the priorities of my life.
How do you define your own success?
I define my success by living a life and having a business that is in flow. I call this being aligned. Success to me is when I am doing what engages me and when I stumble along the way I get back up and keep going. The success is each step I take along the path. There is no end or time when I’ll say I’m successful because I finished this project or completed this book or made this much money. I am a success now and at every point in time because I live from a place of doing what feels good and when it stops feeling good, I change it. To me that is life success.
What does #BEYOUROWN mean to you?
To me BEYOUROWN encapsulates one of the main philosophies I live my life by and teach others and that is that you are the author of your story called life. If you don’t like where the story is going you, and only you, have the power to pick up that pen and write a different story. This life is yours to create what you dream of. Own that and create the life you long for.
Finally, what are you working on throughout 2019?
Throughout 2019 I am working on the promotion of my new book ‘Relationship Revival: 8 Pillars of a Strong, Connected & Fulfilling Relationship.’ This project is a heart inspired project based on my own experiences with reviving my intimate relationship with my husband, Jaye. What I discovered while going through this is that there is so much pain in many relationships and people feel alone and unsure of what to do to create the thriving relationship they are searching for. These pillars are a guide to doing that.
