Mary Whitney Whittaker is what they, in the biz, call a Little Pistol. She’s a hilarious 5’2 ball of fire, ready to show women and men everywhere that not only is it our right to dream, but it is also our responsibility to bring our dreams to life in order to gift the world with our special talents.
Mary Whitney’s dream is to motivate and inspire people to go after the big things in life and she offers the opportunity to do just that. She wants to make the world laugh and she wants to do so in a way that helps people push fear aside and go for it, so they look back in life and have no regrets.
She knows the struggle. She spent her entire childhood and early adulthood being right on the verge of successful, but too afraid to actually succeed. From a young age, she played on the best competitive soccer teams in the Country but was too afraid of failing and therefore never actually succeeded. She became a pro at any Tryout but was too afraid to perform once on the team. The talent was there and so was the fear. The same went for her studies and her relationships. Something needed to change.
Luckily, after years of exceptional leadership development through the United States Army (and a giant dose of world perspective), Mary Whitney came out the other side a brand new woman, ready to change the world, with the tools to do so. Once you have stepped out of an airplane at 30,000 feet, 1200 feet, or even 800 ft. suddenly succeeding in life doesn’t seem so scary.
Life is a journey of teaching moments and This Little Pistol is all grown up and leading the way to success.
She is now on a mission to provide the opportunity for anyone ready to make a change in their life, big or small. This entrepreneur is developing a team of highly motivated individuals who want to change the financial outcome of their lives, so they can easily pursue any dream in their hat. There is a lot of money on the table for those who are ready to earn it and Mary Whitney is exactly the person to show you what right looks like and how to reap the rewards. This is a leader who is in the trenches with her people and pushing them to be better, every day.
Mary Whitney is a Mom of 3, Army Veteran, Motivational Speaker, Certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Women’s Fitness Specialist, and a Professional Network Marketer who is paving the way for this generation.
Welcome Mary Whitney, thank you for taking your time with us, can you introduce yourself to us?
Thank you so much for having me! Absolutely, so I am a mom of 3 little ones (please send wine), an Army spouse, an Army Veteran, a certified personal trainer, a women’s fitness specialist, group fitness instructor, and a professional network marketer. Basically, I am a woman, so I am a professional multitasker! I am also a motivational speaker who wants to show women (and men) everywhere that not only is it your right to dream big, it’s your responsibility to chase those dreams so you can gift the world with your talents. We currently live in California but I work from anywhere.
Can you talk us through the path you have pathed to where you are now as a Professional Network Marketer, Certified Personal Trainer and motivational speaker?
Life has a funny way of leading you exactly where you need to go. I am a former Division I athlete who Commissioned as an Officer in the United States Army out of college. I grew up with a dad who served 35 years in the Army, two grandfathers who served 30+ years in the Army, a husband and two brothers who still serve, 3 cousins who serve…so basically, I joined the family business. Everything I have learned up to this point in life can be attributed to three things: parents who instilled the importance of leadership and taking care of people; elite soccer teams who instilled the drive to succeed; and the United States Army who developed my leadership capabilities and provided world perspective. Plus, they threw me out of an airplane a bunch of times (OK they didn’t “throw” me, they just strongly encouraged me to jump) and after that, really nothing in life is too scary. To be fair, being a U.S. Army paratrooper was my favorite part about my time in the Army! When you’re 5’2, you float in like a snowflake, anyway.
So all of these paths and character development shaped who I am today. After I had my first baby, I decided to get out of the Army and wanted to stay home with him. That lasted one month. I found very quickly that I was extremely unhappy as a stay at home mom. There is nothing wrong with it, in the least, it just truly didn’t fit me.
I have always had a deep desire to make a big impact on people’s lives and help the world. I just wasn’t sure how. I decided to become a Certified Personal Trainer because fitness has always been a major part of my life. I knew I would be able to help people with their fitness goals and it’s an incredible feeling, seeing somebody work hard and achieve what they set out to do.
Recently, I found that I wanted to make an even bigger impact on people’s lives. I wanted to motivate people and help people with more than just fitness. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to a company that allowed me to do just that. I joined Isagenix and everything changed for the better—I found purpose in life, I found my energy, lost my baby weight and started making real money for my family. If you haven’t heard of it, Isagenix offers a variety of simple, whole food nutrition and supplements to help fill our bodies with the essential vitamins and nutrients we aren’t necessarily getting in our diets. Their scientifically proven products that have transformed my health and the health of so many people!
What sparked your interest in Network Marketing and how has it impacted your career overall?
First and foremost, I am connecting with people who are driven, like me, and positive. They are people wanting to make a difference and wanting to change the lives of the people they help. That’s huge.
Second, I am helping people feel better, eat better, and thrive in their lives.
But really, what Network Marketing has done is provided the financial freedom to take on all types of projects and help people in ways I couldn’t before.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a ton of money in the Fitness Industry, and with 3 little ones at home, it was difficult to work it out logistically.
Now, I am not only helping people with our incredible products, but I am also helping them financially, which I couldn’t do before. Having the money to take on whatever you want in life, is my goal for every single person I work with. Imagine what you could do with an extra five, six, or even seven figures a year?!
Network Marketing is leadership at its finest. You have the opportunity to take care of people, show them what “right” looks like, and lead by example. You’re not telling people to do something, you are showing them how to be successful by how you live your life, present yourself, and treat people. Personal and Professional Development is such a huge aspect of Isagenix and there is so much support to help you thrive in this business.
Just to clarify, can you tell us 3 ways in which your clients can benefit from working with you?
- Of course! First, I am a part of a team of professionals who are wildly successful in the business, so we have experts who take the time to work and develop you to succeed. I would be crazy to say I am doing this alone. I have success because I have incredible teammates and leaders who have paved the way. (As my dad always says) Leaders leave clues, and it’s up to us to use those clues for our own success.
- By now, every single one of us has gotten the Facebook message from someone we knew 12 years ago, trying to sell us something. It is ick factor 10,000 and working with me (and my team), we will show you that not only is that not the way to do it, but there is also no need to do that. We have the products that speak for themselves and that work wonders. Nobody wants to be sold to. People do love the opportunity to connect in a community, feel better, lose weight, lower stress, and make money. I am here to show you how to present the opportunity for people. We are here to help people, not sell to people.
- Isagenix has the best compensation plan in the business and the bonuses are there for the taking. On top of that, the products are world class and backed by science and a team of the top Dieticians who ensure the products are the best quality. Couple that with this little pistol, who wants nothing more than to change your life for the better, a larger than life personality, and a work ethic to match, we will not only have you thriving in your health and finances, we will be having an absolute blast!
Which methods do you use to achieve measurable results and what areas do you specialise in?
It probably sounds silly but I write my goals down and every single day, I map out what I can do that day to reach the overarching goal. If it’s written down and something I can check off, that is huge for my morale and my fire keeps burning.
I am constantly brainstorming, I am constantly looking to collaborate with incredible people in many different fields, and I am constantly reading professional development books to help better myself.
I have to be organised because, well…I have a 6,3, and 1 year old trying their best to turn my hair grey! So, by writing things down, it is always fresh in my mind what needs to be done and allows me to prioritise and balance.
Furthermore, I figured out about 8 months ago that if I want to get anything done these days, I need to be up before God. So I rise at about 4:30 a.m., which gives me 2 hours of uninterrupted work before the chaos…I mean day…begins.
Every big goal I have has mini goals and/or tasks to get me there. It is so important to really map out how you will reach those goals and what really truly needs to be done to get there.
Where can you see yourself within the next 5 years and how are you planning to grow?
In the next five years, I will be an Isagenix Multi-Millionaire. I know it’s possible, I have leaders on my team who have achieved it (in 2 years), and I know that means that I will have made a positive impact on an incredible amount of lives. The only way to succeed in this business is to help people—it is such a win-win in my book!
I plan to grow my team every single day and I am always looking for driven women (and men) who are looking for a little (or a lot) of money to chase their dreams.
I want to show the people who think they aren’t cut out for it, that actually, they might surprise themselves. To me, there is no risk in putting quality products in your system and making money sharing with other people, who also eat.
Of course, as a fitness trainer, it is always my goal to help people with their health and the Isagenix products do exactly that. They nourish my body, my kids, my friends, and anyone wanting to feel better.
My goal is to change the lives of anyone willing to join me. I want to use Isagenix as an opportunity to help motivate and develop people to live their best lives.
My success in Isagenix and my previous successes/failures in life are what drive me to speak around the world to help motivate people to chase their dreams. You are witnessing me do it, every single day. If I can get after my dreams, so can you, and Isagenix can help you get there.
What is your most favoured aspect of working within the Network Marketing industry?
It’s got to be a positive energy and the nonstop support from the Organisation. It’s a win-win situation because if you succeed, they succeed. And if you succeed, that means you are helping other people feel better and creating financial freedom to live the best life. Not to mention, the trips and opportunities to travel and experience fun places are amazing.
Obviously, the flexibility is really nice. I walk my kids to school, I work when I want and from anywhere, I workout whenever I want, and I decide how much effort I put into it. Also, a major part of this job is just talking and connecting to people over coffee, over a phone date, and just sharing your experience. It’s not only not difficult, but it’s also really fun and I can’t believe I call it “work.”
Network Marketing truly allows me to dream big. Obviously, it scratches that itch to help people, but it is so much more than that. Financially, I will now be able to truly, do whatever sets my soul on fire. I want that for anyone and everyone. I want to speak to audiences around the world and show them that, it’s possible to chase your dreams and have the money to do so. I want to work with people one-on-one to show them that they are worth it. I want to collaborate with incredible women and companies around the world to change this place for the better. I want to show my children that not only do women work, we THRIVE. There is so much talent in the world in so many different aspects, and I want people to share their talents and look back on life with no regrets.
What challenges have you seen to have been presented during the growth of your career?
I think the biggest one is the preconceived negative feelings people have toward network marketing due to experiencing people who did not approach it correctly or having tried it themselves but not having the proper mentorship to be successful. Luckily, I have learned from what not to do and I am turning it around to show people that there is a right way to do it and that it’s actually for anyone who sees the potential.
How do you define your own success?
My success is seen in the eyes of my kids, the way my husband lights up, and the fact that I know I am finally making a difference in people’s lives, all while changing the financial blueprint of my life. I still get giddy every time I sign somebody up with Isagenix because I know their life is about to change like mine did.
What does #BEYOUROWN mean to you?
Every aspect of my childhood, early adulthood, successes, and failures have led me to where I am today. I am using the tools in my toolkit to help change the world in so many amazing ways. I can be a personal trainer, mom, friend, sister, wife, professional, entrepreneur, and motivational speaker and they all make me who I am and how I make a mark on the world.
I want to encourage people not to let ANYONE tell them what they can or can’t do in life. This is your life, your passions, your experiences—do something great with it.
Finally, what are you working on throughout 2019?
Currently, I am studying to become a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. It’s all about Process Improvement and it can play such a big role in so many aspects of life and business and I am excited to add another extremely useful tool to my tool belt.
Of course, I am also working every day to bring this opportunity to as many people as possible. I want to connect as many people as possible to the products that changed my life and I want to change yours.
I am always looking to collaborate with great minds who have great passions, so I am always trying to connect and use my skills to help other people thrive and make their mark on the world.
