Brigit’s #BEYOUROWN BOSS Story
It’s incredible to see how considerably my business has grown. From the very start where we opened our first bakery in Covent Garden, leading onto launching our first-afternoon tea bus, which became well recognised globally, which then allowed us to then grow into having ten buses around London. Having your own business is never easy; it takes time and a lot of trial and error before achieving your goals. There has been significant growth in Brigit’s over the years, for example, opening the Afternoon Tea Bus Tour, The Brigit’s boat tour, and the B afternoon home delivery service. There are always new and exciting things we have to offer. We are continually expanding and coming up with new ideas, and eventually, we want to grow into a global brand.
As with any food business, you learn that you’re only as good as your team, which can be a challenge at times as the business is continuously growing and changing. However, with any business from the beginning, your business is everything, so it means the world when you get rewarded for all your hard work. One of the highlights of running my business is when Disney approached us to host the launch of their new film Paddington which was incredibly flattering to be recognised by such a global, and we established brand. It’s amazing to see as the business grows, and the brand becomes more acknowledged the reaction and feedback we get from the world’s most prominent publications such as GQ, Vogue, Daily Mail etc…
In past generations, there was a massive shortage of female bosses. But today, there are plenty of successful women like myself running companies and building fortunes using their ingenuity. The important thing is to focus on pursuing your dream, never let anyone dictate your path or how you should run your business. We are constantly breaking boundaries and making new rules, and this is going to be revolutionary for the future of the female workspace.
