#BEYOUROWN MEETS JAIME AMADIO
Jaime Amadio is a coach, healer, medicine woman, and expert on finding happiness. For her, the highest value Jaime lives life by is freedom. Nothing inspires her more than knowing her soul has an expression that wants to come through and dissolving the limitations that prevent it from happening. We ask Jaime how she is helping others to do exactly the same, her writing process behind her ebook “Live Your Purpose,” and her mentorship programme.
Thank you for joining us Jaime can you tell us a little bit about your background story as a coach and healer?
I fell into the coaching business by accident really. To give you the background of how that happened, I was working in a high-flying career in Sydney that completely stressed me out to the point that I wasn’t sleeping more than 2 to 4 hours a night. For the last 2 years of that career, I knew I wanted to leave but had no idea what to do. I would take regular breaks between my projects in an attempt to recover from burnt-out adrenals. The last break I took I just didn’t return.
I was travelling through South East Asia and after 3 months on the road I went to Bali to do a spiritual retreat, during this time I could feel my awakening deep-dive to a whole new level, so I decided to stay there. During another retreat, I met a woman who found my story inspiring so she asked me if I would coach her. I have always loved helping people, so I said yes. And my coaching business snowballed from there back in 2013.
My role as a healer started much earlier, back in 2001 when I was studying crystal healing and reiki. Even though I worked in the corporate world I have always been drawn to the occult and shamanic ways of living.
How would you say you are an expert on finding happiness and do you have any anecdotes to share that reflect this?
You could say I worked out the formula for finding happiness by accident. It happened with a lot of self-inquiry, but it came down to asking myself “what do I want to do and why can I just do it?”. This showed me where my limiting beliefs were hiding. The next part was clearing those beliefs. To do this I use a combination of NLP, EFT, journaling and meditation.
You mention that the highest value you live life by is “freedom,” but how are you helping others dissolve the limitations that prevent it from happening to them?
I help others to dissolve the limitations that prevent them from living a life of freedom by finding out what their belief systems are, where they came from then clearing the emotional charge wrapped around these past events. A belief is a thought that we think over and over again and most beliefs are created from the age 0 to 7. Once we find the events that have an emotional charge attached to them and clear it, it’s amazing how space is cleared for new information and energy to come through. This is the process for stepping into a ‘free’ way of thinking which then paves the way for taking action without limitation.
Congratulations on your ebook “Live Your Purpose,” can you explain the writing process, the distribution platforms and the marketing strategy behind its launch?
Writing this ebook was a very easy process as I basically took the concept for my 6-month coaching program called the ‘Shape Shifter Program’ and cut it down into a simplified version for the ebook. (I don’t have a marketing strategy behind its launch)
Do you have any current mentors? If so, what are the benefits of having one and are you also open to mentoring others looking to pursue the same career avenue as you?
I feel having my own mentor is such an important part of my self-development. Having someone else witness me as I am going through a process is invaluable. It’s always easier to see through to the heart of someone else’s issues than it is your own and my mentor helps me move through blocks that I can’t see myself. It’s like going to the gym and having a personal trainer who pushes you to a limit that you just don’t go to on your own.
My work as a coach is to help others find their unique expression for themselves, so if that means following the same path as I did that is up to them. Last year I started a mentorship program where I take people through an intensive 6 months of leadership training so they can hold workshops and retreats for themselves.
What platforms are you using as marketing tools to promote your retreats?
Aside from my email list and Facebook, to promote my retreats I advertise on retreat websites such as wetravel.com and yogaretreats.com
Do you currently use any apps or tools to help the functionality of your business practice?
I use Asana project management which helps me keep on top with the tasks I need to complete each week. I am also using Pipedrive which is a great tool for keeping track of leads that come in and contracts that I have won. Without this app, I was losing thousands of dollars’ worth of business as I was terrible at following up with people!
If you could tell your 18-year old self a solid piece of advice, what would it be?
Self-love is one of the most important things to integrate as a young human. When your self worth is low, your world will reflect this by the situations you find yourself in. When you love and value yourself you will attract people that honour and appreciate you for who you are on the inside.
What does #BEYOUROWN mean to you?
To me, #BEYOUROWN signifies standing in your power girl!
What does 2020 look like for you throughout the rest of the year?
This year is shaping up to be a big one! Right now, I am in Sydney Australia holding workshops and ceremonies for the next few months. I will be back home in Peru in April, then I am off to England and Ireland to hold ceremonies and workshops there. I have my big yearly retreat in August where we work with an Andean shaman and travel through the Sacred Valley of Cusco and Lake Titicaca, then in October is my yearly women’s retreat called SHAMANICA.
