Thank you for interviewing with us today, can you introduce yourself to us?
I am a Multi-award-winning Skincare expert, product developer and nutritionist. I own luxury private clinic in Knightsbridge called Clinic Privé which is the home of Non-Invasive, we deliver results focused skincare for a more natural and sustainable alternative to injectables, fillers or surgery, we call it healthy ageing. I also have my own developed and formulated skincare line focused on cutting edge actives, sustainable ingredients that are Kind to Skin and Kind to the Planet.
Can you take us through your journey to where you are now?
I was interested in skincare from an early age because of the problems I experienced with rosacea, so I naturally looked for products to help my skin issues at that time. I also had a connection with Rose Quartz , my mother used to have it around the house and I loved its energy and beautiful pink hue.
In terms of my career in beauty I started as a makeup artist whilst studying dermatology and nutrition and it was during this period I had my lightbulb moment.. I had the idea of creating a product that blurred the lines between skincare and makeup and I wanted to put Rose Quartz in it – this was the concept for my first product the Luminescent Base. I created my own brand in 2014 and we now have over 65 Awards.
Since starting, have you made any changes to your business model?
I’m always looking for new and innovative ways to improve how we work and offer our clients better outcomes. As a business you must always adapt and change whilst always remaining true to what you believe and your brand values.
Have you ever had a mentor? If so how has this benefitted you either personally or professionally?
I have been lucky to have been surrounded by so many incredible people that continue to offer natural support and champion my values. I sadly recently lost one of my Mentors, Diane who has been with me from the start and instrumental on the product side in particular product formulations and ingredients.
What outlets do use for marketing?
We have been spending a lot of time recently developing a very strategic new marketing strategy but like any business you have try many different outlets to find out what really works for you and do more of it.
What or Who has inspired you most recently?
I’m inspired everyday by many different people who are just authentic, kind and naturally want to make a difference in what they do to bring about change. This can come from many different sources for me, but a lot of the time it could be a girlfriend from one of my networks who just says something that makes sense and motivates me and it may have nothing to do with anything I’m personally doing in my business but it creates positive energy which is something that drives me.
What is the best piece of business advice you have received to date?
Be yourself and stick to what you believe, and place your vision front and centre and focus on it continuously.
How do you create an evenly balanced work and personal life?
It can be difficult as a founder because you never switch off, Nurturing my well-being by making self-care a priority helps me to balance – undertaking exercise and spending time with loved ones is important.
Name a seminal point in your career so far?
Rose Quartz – running through my products & treatments (1st brand to do so) My connection to Rose Quartz truly means more than I could’ve ever imagined.
What gives you ultimate career satisfaction?
Making a positive impact on peoples lives by helping them achieve their cosmetic goals and providing this in a healthy and sustainable way both in terms of treatment outcomes and our products.
Are there any leading entrepreneurs or SME leaders that you admire and if so, why?
Anita Roddick: Although she’s no longer alive, Anita Roddick is worth mentioning as the founder of The Body Shop. She was an early advocate for ethical and sustainable beauty products, and her brand became a pioneer in the cruelty-free and fair trade movements.
How do you define your own success?
Success is measured in so many ways and although I celebrate wins along the way such as 65+ awards we have won or developing products that are really efficacious and deliver results backed by science, theres so much more I want to achieve and my biggest successes are still to come.
Finally, what can we expect from you next?
I’m really focused on wellness and self-care and I have some unique ideas on products that will deliver exceptional skincare and wellness experiences, so watch this space.
