Feeling stuck is natural, but staying there longer than necessary isn’t. Make some quiet time for yourself

Often when we look back, that seemingly weird idea could have been the key piece of the jigsaw puzzle you needed to turn your situation round. 

Making these quiet times a regular part of your daily routine will strengthen your intuition and stop you being swayed by other people’s opinions and judgements. 

Keep a journal

Journalling is a brilliant way to get rid of that trapped energy inside you that comes with feeling stuck. Getting those overwhelming thoughts out of your mind and onto paper releases the weight from your shoulders. A powerful way to journal is to keep asking questions until you get to the root of the problem and find a solution. Remember that all the answers are within you. You just have to access them with the right questions. Your mind can only hold one thought at a time. If you are training it to focus on solutions, that feeling of helplessness can’t get in. 

Visualise and let go

Even though all the evidence might be pointing to the least desirable outcome, the trick is to hold your vision. You may be the only person who believes in that vision, and 

if that’s the case, you need to strengthen it even more. Getting into a relaxed state and visualising what you want to happen will make you feel even more confident. Then let go and trust. This last part is essential as it opens up the path for new solutions. 

Get information from those who have already done it

Whatever situation you are in that’s keeping you stuck, you can bet there’s someone out there who has been through it and come out the other side. Have a conversation with them and find out what they did – it could be a completely different course of action from anything you thought of. Also, don’t underestimate the power of a coach, mentor or support group if your challenge is something that needs resolving over a greater length of time. 

Act on your lightbulb moments

If you have followed the first four steps, you will start getting more and more insights and lightbulb moments. These are the gems that will propel your life forward faster and easier than if you were just going through the motions. As you start doing this regularly, you will find that your confidence will increase, and you will discover that life becomes more of a flow.
