Entrepreneur Anna De La Rosa is passionate about inspiring women to dig deep within themselves and manifest their dreams, hearts desires and cultivating abundance through meditation, emotional mastery techniques, inspired business and career strategies. Find out why Anna is fully committed to giving you all those concrete steps alongside personal stories to get you where you need to be in your business and life.

Hey Anna, can you introduce yourself to us?

Let me start by formally introducing myself as I am Anna Leigh De La Rosa and will be going back to my maiden name: Anna Leigh Svetlik as soon as my divorce is final. I am the Founder of De La Rosa Insurance Services LLC, The Meditation and Mindfulness Project as seen in Mantra Magazine and my blog, Anna De La Rosa, where I empower and inspire women all over the world.

My mission in life is to empower women across the globe. I have the ability to spark something deep within my clients and give them practical tips and tools so they can forge their own paths in life. It took me a while to reach that point, but I am so grateful and thankful that I have had the opportunity over the last decade to embrace my entrepreneurial spirit and build my insurance firm from the ground up. That in itself has been a journey of self-discovery and has taught me how to not give up even when things get in my way.

Not to mention, it has helped to have a long family line filled with entrepreneurs, successors, innovators, and community builders. They have instilled stamina and drive in me at a very young age and that you can create anything from nothing.

In addition, I have created 3 Instagram Pages listed below. The first two Instagram accounts that I created were @theannadelarosa and @empowerwomenquotes and they were structured to empower women to rise up, be themselves and work hard to make their own dreams become a reality. The final one that I created is @manifestingjunkie will be celebrating its year anniversary in December 2018 is for the WooWoo Gal that loves mantras, meditations & moon dust rituals and then uncut, funny raw shit that just comes straight from the heart. To sum it up, I would not have gotten to where I am today without years of learning, researching, failing, and failing some more.

Can you take us through your journey to where you are now?

I started my career in the medical field after college and my 1st job was in the Houston Texas Medical Center at MD Anderson Cancer Center helping the doctors on the 3rd floor diagnostic center with X-rays, Nuclear Medical Procedures, MRI, Cat Scans and saw 300 plus patients who a day.  That is where I learned my customer service skills for sure and how to care for the sick. Then a few years later I switched to The Methodist Hospital and started a position in assisting general vascular surgeons with heart issues, poor circulation, ESRD, tesio catheters, amputations, transplants and so much more. From there I ended up developing a pre-determination division for a group of general vascular surgeons, to have Varicose Vein Surgeries approved and paid by a variety of different insurance carriers. Now one of the doctors has the largest vein center in Houston Texas.

From there I was fascinated with the medical insurance world that I decided to change my focus from the doctor and clinical side, to now opening my own Medical Insurance Firm in order to offer company employees an array of options for their medical, dental, vision and life insurance needs.  I wanted to approach it as a one-stop shop service and not from a physician or medical practice level.   Now I was the business owner & insurance broker that provided insurance benefits and services for all companies all over Texas with two employees or more.  I would cater and personally help their employees & families better understand the benefits offered by the company they worked for as well as assist after the benefits were implemented.  My company has been opened since January 2012 and there is nothing more satisfying than to know I built it from the ground up all by myself.

My Values as a business owner of De La Rosa Insurance Services, LLC,  was to build long-term relationships with businesses and families to help prepare them for the future with customized medical insurance, dental, vision, life, prescription benefits, and financial services for what life brings. De La Rosa Insurance is the firm to do business with if you are serious about your goals and your future.  My goal was to prove that you can depend on me to listen and to understand what it is you value most from an insurance professional. My firm was not owned or financially supported by any bank, brokerage firm, insurance company, or other financial institution.  My number one goal was to make sure that you, the customer is 100% satisfied.  I offered a small-firm feel by treating each case with care and consideration.

The reason I started my own business was to push myself to the next level and there was a part of me that didn’t like being held back by corporate rules and regulations or others owning the company that worked for in the past. I was a young woman in my early 30s, not satisfied and ready to conquer the world. I wanted to bust through all blocks and limiting beliefs and reach for the highest level I could. Even though I did just that, there was still an emptiness inside and I was not complete. I continued to keep up with my research on the mind, meditation, quantum physics, neuroscience and how all of this connection and it blows me away how amazing our mind & brains function. I have been studying since I was a little girl and that is why I am so drawn to meditation, mindset work and journaling the fuck out of my blocks and limiting beliefs.

What is a day in the life of you like?

There is no typical day because I move so much. Some days I take my daughter to school, travel, but I always fit in my journaling, yoga, meditate and then make my nutritional shake. I work in between it all & I make sure to do 10 money making activities daily, no matter what. Then hang with family and then run the dog in the evening no matter what time it is. Then meditate before bed.

How did you launch your career as a success coach and meditation guru?

I made a decision to do it and I went for it! In 2014 I started doing summits and interviewing women and I loved it!!

It is funny because growing up I wanted two things: A sisterhood to be a part of and I always wanted to be an internationally known fashion designer, having a global empire and my luxurious designs are worn religiously. We all have our dreams and for one, I was the youngest of 3 brothers so the sisterhood thing went out the door at that young age until now because I decided to create my own sisterhood. Then as far as a fashion designer, as I got older and started my transitions into life and the corporate world.  I gravitated towards building my own brand with a cult following. I started my entrepreneurial journey & decided to become a successful businesswoman that could afford to buy my favourite designers, travel, lux living, and shopping whenever I wanted. Or if I got a wild hair and wanted to treat people dinner and surprise them with gifts, then I totally would.

Can you talk is through you launched De La Rosa Insurance Services, LLC?

I create things and that is what I love to do and when I started my company 8 years ago I thought I wanted to be a business owner that worked her ass off because that is the way we were taught, right?

So that is what I did and over the course of me building my empire I realised several years ago that The Empire I was building was not serving my purpose even though it was mine, very successful and I was the top 2 % of women-owned Medical Insurance Firms that offer every line of medical coverage to companies.

I have always been on a mission but on 11/26/2011 my brother killed himself and I realised that I was not being treated right and I need to change the entire direction of my life’s path because I was letting people control me and rule my entire life.  I was unfulfilled, drained, not in my power, not living my purpose and had truly lost my identity. So on 1/1/12, I started the new year off with a bang and I decided that I was going to take control. Kundalini Meditation found me and No more weak, insecure, non-confident Anna! I was making a change through the power of meditation! That is when I started a journey to learn about me and who I really was.  I didn’t know where to start, I have always been a reader and researcher so I just started looking into different modalities. The 1st one I started with was simple and I could handle, I slowed down and be conscious in all that I did and started practicing meditation and mindfulness, who would have known I would do a project on it years later in getting recognised in Mantra Magazine.

Then I used everything that I experienced including all of my feelings, thoughts, and sensation to know myself and found a yoga coach to teach me what Yoga really was and at that moment I started my path to learning about myself and my research journey began.

So that January 2012, I quit my 6 figure executive position and started my own medical insurance firm, I had no income coming in for months but I was going to do it! I would cry myself to sleep at night and get up the next day and start again. I will never forget when I got my 1st monthly dental commission and it was $1.67 but I didn’t give a damn, I did that! It was my $1.67. Then that grew to $5.00, to $1000, $3000. Eventually, six months went by and I was starting to see results from the continued momentum and relationships that I had been cultivating and I ended up reaching 6 figures before the end of my first year. My first in business was complete.

That didn’t matter at all because I was still empty as hell and not fulfilled. As a rule, I tend to shy away from concepts, ideals, anything, really, that neatly fits in a box, and pour my heart and soul into my brand of just being real and honest on every level and having an energy of fun and I wasn’t doing that all!  Even though I was success and a 6 figure earning that didn’t matter.  I was supposed to be doing more! So a few years ago I set out to build my own personal brand and a totally new Empire that served me and the women I am called to help!  I still have De La Rosa Insurance Services, LLC and provide the service to the company I have on the books but I am not actively taking on any more new companies to help with their insurance and benefit needs.

Can you give us 3 tips on how to grow wealth by doing exactly what we love?

It is so simple to grow wealth doing exactly what you love whilst getting results in your personal life or business and not to mention give zero fucks what people think of you! Authenticity and honesty are so important along with:

  1. Decide what it is you want to achieve.
  2. Make space to act on it (daily).
  3. Do the work on repeat until you get there & don’t listen to anyone but your inner guidance.

Who does the team involve behind you at the Mindfulness Project?

Myself, my business manager Vikki Toler, she is my right hand for the day to day operations, the thirty-one amazing ladies I interviewed and The Crew at Mantra Magazine.

Where can you see yourself within the next 3-5 years?

Still trying to conquer and take the world by storm whilst spreading my message to the masses.

What strategies do you have in place when looking at the expansion of your business?

Alli Rodriguez is a life saver. She is helping with my book activities and interviews, my membership site & academy as well as my new project, Manifesting Junkie website that has a lot of surprises in store you will love! See I was in a marriage for 22 years and I couldn’t cuss & be classy, show my empathic side and speak my truth at all, so I have been separated for 2 1/2 years and was like I’m gonna create a page that I can do just that and Manifesting Junkie was born last Dec 2017.

The funny thing is I have had the internet domain for Manifesting Junkie for 5 years because I loved the name and didn’t know what to do with it back then but now I do!

Can you tell us what areas you have struggled in professionally?

Procrastination and wanting to have it perfect before I start, not thinking I’m good enough and not wanting to be seen or visible.

Have you ever had any other mentor?

It is a must, in order to grow and be successful. I usually have about five to seven mentors, coaches, teachers, trainers and spiritual advisors at a time but lately, I have been having three.

I have my current kick-ass business strategist, spiritual guide and soul sista Ingrid Arna, founder of CEO Diva Business School and the Gucci of online business programs, High-End Empire. She’s been endorsed by Kate Winslet for her work and has been featured in Cosmopolitan, Instyle, Huffington Post, Good Health Magazine and on The Steve Harvey Show. I also have my fitness coach: JAM Malibu (Neda S) and business mentor: Katrina Ruth (Kat Loterzo) and then my manifesting mentor: Lacy Ann Phillips of Free and Native.

If so how has this benefitted you to grow?

It is a must and there is nothing to think about when needing a mentor, coach or advisor.  It is a game changer and just being in the energy and presence of my teachers and trainers had changed my entire life.

What outlets do use to market your business?

Instagram is my favourite and I am always personally responding to comments and DMs daily. Referral. Facebook Ads. Facebook Groups that I am apart of and I also have an email list that I have been growing since 2014 so I will send multiple emails out to my list.

Which methods are you using to build your own support network?

My amazing ladies that are in my book and I have interviewed, Instagram is my fav and I am always personally responded to comments and DMs daily. I love the connections that you form. Facebook Groups that I am apart of. My coaches, mentors, spiritual advisors, mom, and best friends

What do you believe are the common misconceptions about being an entrepreneur?

Thinking something it is too hard and having a limiting belief or mindset so you don’t move forward and start the business or project.

What is the best piece of business advice you have received to date?

Make a choice and just start! Don’t wait until it is perfect, start now. To be authentic, persistent, real, unapologetic and slap it all out on the table because your tribe is waiting for you and what you have to offer. Listen and be guided by your intuition. Also letting go and saying yes to what you know is meant. Go with the flow and what feels right deep down! So if you want more clients or more money in your day/life etc then allow it to flow in! Make a to-do list, every single night. Write at least 3 things on that list that you will accomplish the next day to further your dream. Then lastly that self-care is a must.

What is the number 1 critical lesson you have learned in your career so far?

Not to copy others and be me. It is an energy thang because people know when you are not being real and your true authentic self.

How do you create an evenly balanced work and personal life?

  • Meditation and mindset work.
  • Practices from 2 of my favourite books: ‘The Golden Secrets to Optimal Health’ by Jesse Golden and also Rev. Erin Fall Haskell: Awakening: ‘A 40-Day Guide to Unleashing Your Spiritual Powers, Life’s Purpose, and Manifesting Your Dreams!’
  • Mani/Pedi and I also enjoy a Girls Day at Neiman Marcus.

Journaling is one of the simplest ways I figure out what’s important to me. There are many different explanations and definitions of what values are out there, but the way I like to describe it is this. Your values are the things that are, right now, important to you. Living by your values means that you are prioritising those things and using them as a guiding light and a decision maker on a daily basis.  This has been my number one way to balance personal and work life

The highlight of your career so far?

The growth I have made as an individual and so many other levels. Getting to interview women from all walks of life,  and learn their stories. Building a global brand, a sisterhood that empowers women to be confident, successful, powerful and feels centered and aligned is happening!  I am still alone doing it one step at a time.  I love to inspire & empower women all over the world to keep pressing on in every area of their life even in the midst of their battles! My business strategies, meditation, mindfulness tips, and self-empowerment helps women push to the next stage of their personal journey.  Or if they just want a shoulder to cry on or ear to hear, then that is fine too.

Everyone is at a different point in their journey. All I know is, I started this journey as a little girl with a dream and even though I go off path being in the abuse relationship and had to start over a 37 (now I am 39) I knew I supposed to keep going and not give up because that 1st half of my life I learned what not to do and now my second have I am doing whatever I want to do like a strong, independent, determined, single mom and I have worked from the inside out and that is exactly what I had to do.  I can say with confidence that I am going in the right direction. There is nothing more exciting than watching your own personal brand evolve very quickly and know that I started with just ideas and chipped away at it daily.  I was totally the one that had everything to do with this, no one else: the start, the growth, and success is all my work of art.

Now the best part is That I have been teaching my daughter to be strong, confident and happy with herself because I am her teacher and will guide her through any and everything!  She is 16 now and we have learned so much along this journey and we still are!

What gives you ultimate career satisfaction?

Knowing I helped change someone’s life for the better! Encouraging, inspiring, empowering or teaching. Being able to live a life of luxury and do whatever I want and not have to rely on anyone else to do it for me.

What challenges have you seen to have been presented during the growth of your business?

I have faced challenges in the beginning which were motivating myself to work hard. Also, things like having founder dependence and hiring the right people to duplicate my decisions and responsibilities as the business grows and letting go of control, that was my hardest challenge.

Building multiple brands at one time and overworking myself too hard and getting fatigued. I had clients not paying so in turn then I am not able to my bills so it has resulted in not enough cash flow at times.

Which other leading entrepreneurs and pioneering game changers do you also admire and why?

There are so many and everyone that I have interviewed for my book has made an impact on my life but I will highlight Jesse Golden, an author, the creator of The Golden Secrets, a Yogi and a model who has graced the cover of many magazines. She lives and breaths the definition of ’empowerment.’

Jesse is an absolute breath of fresh air and I have been so blessed to have her apart of every project that I have done as well not to mention she’s in my upcoming book ‘Empowered Women that Empower Women-Vol 1’ and my book is dedicated Jesse, my Angel & Soul Sister. Jesse has been there for me through my journey when I thought my would was ending and I didn’t have way out.

The impact, the inspiration, and support that Jess has made in my life through her energy & presence, her book, yoga and Be Golden Product, (which are a must to your daily routine) has been a god sent. I share how her push with rheumatoid arthritis impacted me so much that I started my Women Empowerment Project a few years ago.  I go into how she has been a part of all of my projects & even my separation. The girl is amazing and I think part bionic. Personally, I couldn’t have gone through all she has without a tribe of soul sisters by my side.

Diane Von Furstenberg is a fashion designer, author, philanthropist, an icon and not to mention a human legend. She is a cultural powerhouse known as DVF, she empowers women globally and I love what she said. “I became an icon,” von Furstenberg says. “Now I want to be an oracle.” Diane is a super confident woman that seems to achieve more each year. Her brand DVF has joined the ranks of top luxury international brands. She embraces life, new technology

Christine Bullock, a mom & wife first but also co-founder of @kayobetterbody and the creator of 20 Minute Fit Programs. Christine is an inspiration to me and she was my first interview for women empowerment blog & book a few years ago. I have part of our original interview currently up on my blog, if you would like to review. www.annadelarosa.com.  Now she is in my upcoming book,  ‘Empowered Women that Empower Women-Vol 1’ & she still inspires me and not to mention millions of others. What makes it even cooler, is that now she has a precious baby girl that fits in perfectly.

Lastly Founder: #TheMcCordList,  Rachel McCord, a model & TV personality and author of ‘Slay The Fame Game.’ I love it when I meet someone and we immediately bond! @iamrachelmccord radiates Girl Power, Empowerment, Beauty, Sisterhood! I am so grateful and thankful! It does matter if I am all the way in Texas, when you connect with someone, distance doesn’t matter at all! My book would not be complete without this influencer of influencers.

I love their saying, from trailer parks to red carpets, she inspires millions of women that “no matter where you grow up, you are born to slay.”

What is a good article or book you have read recently?

Funny you ask because I am a devoted reader of all and I always buy the copy at a bookstore, then kindle when I am unable to have a lot with me and the digital Audible version when I am driving. I know, I have a sickness but I have done it for years. I always have about 3 books going at one time and currently, I have:

  1. ‘Diane: A Signature Life’ by Diane Von Furstenberg.
  2. ‘Becoming Supernatural’ by Joe Dispenza.
  3. ‘Rich Chick’s Guide To Beating Overwhelm And Procrastination And Getting Sh*t DONE!: Productivity for Women Entrepreneurs Who Want It All, Now! (The Rich Chicks Guide Book 1)’ by Kat Loterzo, Deanna Shanti.

Top 3 go-to Podcast channels?

  1. ‘How to B’ with Brittany Reid.
  2. ‘Skinny Confidential.’
  3. ‘Success Smackdown Live’ with Kat- Katrinaruthshow.

How do you measure your own terms of success?

Success to me is having intelligence, wit and drive on the inside. Also, If you want to be successful, you have to put in the work, you have to put in your time and create yourself. Period. Setting goals and actually completing the goal or project is huge! My bank account of course and not having a budget! Buy and spend money on anything my heart desires. Daily followers and growth of all my Instagram Accounts and being able to do whatever I want.

What does #BEYOUROWN mean to you?

It means being real, uncut, raw, authentic and unapologetic with a twist of humor.  Slapping it all out on the table is what has been the best thing I have ever done.  Others identify with you when you share what comes straight from your heart, flaws and all!  The more I am open and raw, the more I can reach my tribe and help others because it shows that it is okay to show your shit and be imperfect, that right there speaks volumes.

This allows them to step into their power and start truly living their true self and not to mention a bigger version of themselves.

Lastly, what is next for you?

I turn 40 on Dec 20, 2018, so the sky is the lining! I am starting a new chapter in my life personally, professionally and financially so I am so excited! My book ‘Empowered Women That Empower Women -Vol 1’ will release in 2019.

I’m writing a book for women on women empowerment, that has only the hottest, most ambitious, prestigious women doing their thing! With me being a Czechoslovakian, businesswoman & going through a divorce after being married 22 yrs, I am aiming to raise women up to let everyone know we can do this shit. This sensational piece of inspiration, elegance & beauty is celebrating the power & determination of women,

It’s not your average coffee table book it’s a conversation piece, a full-colour display of beauty & power to be translated in & printed in 7 Languages. I am launching my academy called ‘Empowered Women Academy’ where I will be working with women that have an online business already, a business in the making or have a dream to start a business from scratch.  I will walk them through the different processes from beginning to end and give them the tools to help build their own empire!  Also offering owners going from an entrepreneur to an influencer, to empire!

I will be hosting events, empowerment temple retreats with the Manifesting Junkie membership site already ready. I am enhancing it to a full-fledged website and I am in the process of putting together ritual & ceremony boxes kits and other really fun spiritual things. There is also the Manifesting Junkie Magazine, Podcast.

My heart goes out to abused women and I would really like to help women that need their personal needs met that have not been able to do anything for themselves due to financial hardships.

I am going to open a center everywhere for those women and they will have the ability to have a day at the spa, with massage, mani/pedi and then have a makeover.  Plus depending on their situation there will be a living quarter for them and a rehabilitation center for the ones in need.

I want to help give exposure, money, support and mentoring to extraordinary women who have the strength to fight, the courage to survive and the leadership to inspire!  Empowering women in mission. I am so excited for 2019 to arrive.
