#BEYOUROWN MEETS BROOKE MUENZENBERGER

Brooke Muenzenberger launched Brooke’s Body Shop Fitness to empower women to get their confidence back to become strong and sexy. With over 10 years of experience in training, being an exercise physiologist and nutritionist, training and consulting with women worldwide is just the tip of the iceberg.

Brooke helps women who want the six-pack of their dreams and /or wanting to learn how to eat again to sustain their best selves. F%*% the scale is one of her and clients’ favourite mantras. Training individuals live via Zoom, Consulting weekly, walking women through the program is the expectation of her services.

Thank you for joining us Brooke, can you tell us a little bit about your background story, your fitness journey and how it reflects who you are and what you do today?

I always wanted to know what foods I needed to eat to get shredded or the body of my dreams, and what I needed to do. When I was little, I wanted to have a six-pack 24/7. I wanted it so back I would do 1000s of crunches, but as I know now, that time and the proper nutrition will help me get there. It wasn’t just about having a six-pack, it was about the feeling I would get from achieving it and that it would be constant upkeep that would show my dedication and discipline to myself and others.

The 13-year-old me is really why I wanted to build my company. It was to take the feeling of the uncertainty and unknown away from women and educate them on how to actually have the body they want and work for it. I am blessed with the fact that I have gotten to know so many people and change their lives. This is also why bodybuilding fell into my lap too, so I could understand what it took to get way past just having abs, but being very lean, and working harder than anyone else to get what you really want.

I also got bullied for weight training when I was younger and wanting to look good for myself and my confidence. It was a very male-dominant area, and females looked down on it in my high school, but after that, all happened, these females, one by one, would ask me how to train and eat healthily. I trained many people during my high school days to weight train and eat right. Got certified at age of 18, and started working in big box companies training for minimum wage, when I knew my knowledge was worth way more. Bodybuilding fell into my lap which I have been bodybuilding for 5 years, and was mentored by one of the greatest bodybuilding coaches in the game right now, and decided I wanted to work with mostly women who want to be confident, strong, and sexy.

I obtained my title exercise as a physiologist and nutritionist expert after I obtained my Bachelor’s of Sport Science and certifications to be a nutritionist.  I have been coaching and consulting on nutrition for 5 years now as well.

I started my company on my own over a year ago with virtual training and consulting. I was sick and tired of cookie-cutter plans and hours for big box gyms that will higher someone that just buys a certification online the weekend prior to being hired. I wanted to make a change and be separated from that crowd because I know what it takes to get results, and just seeing a personal trainer for an hour a week doesn’t do much. You have to be in constant contact with them to truly change your life.

Also, I wanted to change the world, not just a town. So that is why I started training worldwide and being available more to be able to help a core group of clients change and achieve the body they want.

You offer a wide variety of services from meal prep, virtual training and online courses, what support methods are you offering your clients to make sure that they benefit from your services long term?

I offer online coaching and consulting which is a program customised to the individual. If a person is 3 years into their journey, they will start out somewhere farther down the road than someone that is in their first week of changing their lifestyle. The more contact with your coach the better. I am a firm believer in this, that is why my services are very unique versus any of my competition.

Coaching and consulting consists of consulting with me weekly for an hour, homework assignments for learning how to align yourself with your goals in fitness and health. Customised workout plans with videos and customised macros are included as well with check-ins weekly. Goals to do weekly to help take steps that will even evolve the people around you to be better.

Virtual training is another portion of my company. Virtual training is customised training sessions via zoom call. These are amazing since you don’t have to leave your home to do them, and you can make huge efforts towards your goals of losing body fat, inches, and gaining strength. Instructing individuals through a laptop, tv, or computer is a game-changer and very productive. No more driving an hour to the gym to spend 45 minutes there and drive an hour back.

Meal prep services aren’t the actual food itself, but it is the plan of what to grocery shop for, how much food to get, how much to portion out, different recipes to keep meals interesting and to do all of this whilst aligning with what you are trying to do. The best part is I have the knowledge to create the plan of action, now all the person has to do is do it.

How are you helping women to make fitness a permanent part of their lifestyle, achieve goals and maintain a positive mental attitude towards implementing these changes?

I am changing women’s lives by making sure they start knowing how to time block and organise their schedules. They need to know how to set themselves up with morning and night routines, prioritise their fitness and health as one of their pillars to success. I know it is the realisation that your health and fitness has to be important to you personally to make several strides to be successful as a mom, spouse, CEO, worker, or whatever is super important to them.

It is important to practice meditation, routines, and make sure your decisions and action steps to align with your goals. That is when the person will feel they’re best and most confident.  How I am making this a lifestyle for women is that I am customising to their situation so they know how to eat and set themselves up for the long term to achieve their goals.

How you are balancing the work/life strife?

I am not. It is a constant situation to work in. Learning to include at least 2 hours of my day where I am doing something other than working and lifting is how I have learned to balance it. Also, I am using Calendly to schedule my appointments, family gatherings, dates, and so forth. Also, I make sure I schedule in what is most important to me, so I feel I am doing what I love to do.

What platforms are you using as marketing tools to promote The 6-Week Challenge, along with your other services?

I am using primarily Facebook Ads and campaigns, Instagram, and flyers. Rochester, MN is a hub for entrepreneurs and is a very giving community.

Do you currently use any apps or tools to help the functionality of your business practice?

I use True Coach for my workouts and videos to customise plans so the client has a template, calendar, and videos to use for their workouts to send me messages, and fill me in on the workouts they had. Also, I use constant contact for emails, Facebook messenger and groups for education and community, and I create my own plans via Microsoft word. We use zoom or Facetime for the virtual calls as well.

Who is the most influential female within the fitness industry that you admire and why?

The most influential female in the fitness industry to me is Claire Thomas. She is Instagram famous. What I admire about her is that she literally works out for fun. I admire that she quit her dream job at the time to work with 1st Phorm a supplement company that doesn’t believe in supplements being the answer, but they help fill the gaps.

If you could tell your 18-year old self a solid piece of advice, what would it be?

Make sure you are getting paid what you are worth. You have let people steamroll you so many times. Treat people like you would like to be treated. Make sure you are helping people the best you can, and the most honest you can. Be yourself. Don’t waste the time and energy on trying to be something you are not. Run towards what scares you because that is the best feeling in the world to be doing something that scares you and makes you feel so alive.

What does #BEYOUROWN mean to you?

BEYOUROWN really aligns with part of my vision of going around the country, speaking to women entrepreneurs and lifting them up. There are not that many women entrepreneurs out there and I believe it is crucial for women to be heard and to start taking their lives in their own hands and doing what they want to do.

What does 2020 look like for you and how are you looking to expand further down the line?

2020 is full of intention and manifestation. Brooke’s Body Shop Fitness will be bringing on more coaches and trainers to help more people. I will be looking to go into business to speak about motivation, fitness, wellness, and routines to help shape this world, companies, and people.
