Meet Carly Pearce, a 27-year-old who is embracing her spiritual abilities to the fullest! Since working as a spiritual medium, Carly is connecting with you and your loved ones on the other side through many readings and with the ability to bring through accurate validation in a comforting and loving nature.
Not only a clairvoyant, but both an intuitive coach, and Reiki level 2 practitioner, so we talk to Carly to explore why she feels her life’s purpose is to be a messenger for the spirit world and how she is helping her clients through the mediumship and spirituality service she offers.
Hey, Carly, can you introduce yourself to us?
I am a high vibin’, 27-year-old from Toronto Ontario. I love anything outdoors, as that is where I feel the most connected to myself. I am an identical twin, we are super close. I can’t imagine life without her! I am both an introvert and extrovert. I love going out with my friends, traveling, meeting new people and trying new things. I also to love to stay in and get cozy with tea, spend time with my boyfriend and my dog. At home, you can find me meditating writing, doing some art, or just some Netflix and chill. I am a Scorpio, so I am emotional yet feisty. I am a clairvoyant & spiritual medium. I can receive information from a higher source, or what we know as “ the other side”. I am filled with gratitude to have this ability and the unconventional life I am living.
Can you take us through your journey to where you are now?
I have always been intuitive and empathic since I was a child. I grew up in a small house in a town just outside of Toronto. I have 3 siblings, all older. My parents have always been very supportive and kind. My dad has an illness which made our household not an easy environment to grow up in. I did also struggle with anxiety as a child. I had a lot of spiritual experiences when I was little but did not think it was unusual due to the lack of awareness. Because I was very empathic, and easily influenced by other peoples energy, eventually in my early 20’s it took a toll on me. I was struggling with the everyday issues of working full time and the pressures of the workplace/workload. After I hit rock bottom facing major depression and anxiety, I left my job to get better. I was seeing countless therapists, psychologists, and hospitals in hopes of healing. It took a couple years before I started to actually notice my mind was healing. I eventually started finding my own healing through spirituality.
Most of what actually helped me heal were through my own intuition and working with mindfulness. After I finally started to actually make positive changes mentally and physically, I started having unusual spiritual experiences. My abilities were brought on slowly, and of course, I am still developing and growing every-day. But once I realised there was accuracy to the things I was seeing/feeling, I reached out for support from another medium, who could then mentor me and help me understand what exactly it was that I was experiencing. I was mentored for about a year and now I am practicing on my own. I cried a lot in the beginning, it was the hardest thing for me to accept that this was my life’s purpose and path.
I feel so blessed to be able to have these abilities and help others who need guidance or are grieving. If you had asked me 5 years ago what I would be doing with my life, I would have NEVER in a million years thought it would be this. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I am grateful for those dark few years I had because without those dark days I wouldn’t have found all of this light!
What is a day in the life of you like as a medium?
A day in the life as a medium is interesting and can be overwhelming. In the beginning, it was so hard to even be in public sometimes. Now, I have learned and understood the importance of the on & off switch.
I am very good at turning my abilities on when necessary or off when I go about my day and do “normal’ things. When I prepare for a reading, I meditate to get grounded & do cleansing rituals. I do readings at my home and sometimes do readings over the phone/facetime. I always make sure I am setting aside a little time each day to meditate so I can recharge and reconnect. It really brings me back to a place of balance and increases my vibration!
How did you launch Miss Intuition?
I launched Miss Intuition officially only about 5-6 months ago. Prior to officially launching, I was doing readings for about a year. I was working really hard on creating the website, business cards and a solid vision for what I wanted to manifest before launching officially. I did a lot of readings for free at the beginning for practice because just like any other job, you have a lot to learn before becoming fluent or professional. I launched my website and Instagram at the same time. I started seeing clients from word of mouth, and still, most people come from referrals, but launching with social media has been helpful to create connections and even new clients as well.
Can you tell us how you are helping your clients through mediumship and spirituality?
I help people by receiving divine messages from their deceased loved ones, angels or spirit guides. I can receive information about their daily life, struggles, strengths etc. I support people when they feel lost with their life and I give them any guidance on what I feel they may need to work on, what could be blocking them from manifesting what they want and also receive messages that can bring major closure to them so they can move forward positively in life. It depends on the person, everyone is different and the problems they face; but I always am happy to be the medium between source and the individual I am sitting with for a reading.
I am always just the messenger, and whatever is meant to be addressed in the session will be. I also have a lot of people come to me that are facing anxiety and depression. They come for intuitive coaching or readings. It is very common today that so many people struggle with mental health. Spirituality and enlightenment changed my life, so I love nothing more than to shed the wisdom I have gained onto them as well as use this beautiful ability to help others in a more deep, authentic way.
Can you enlighten us about hosted mediumship circles, what they are and what you do within them?
Hosted mediumship circles is an incredible way to learn and practice your abilities. In my experience, mediumship circles are usually a small group of mediums all practicing their abilities. Most of the mediums attending these circles would be just starting out with learning how to use their abilities. Many people wonder what exactly practice means to a medium. Practicing is key in learning how your own individual abilities work as everyone’s work differently, and also it is very important that if you’re learning to use an ability to do mediumship, you learn to facilitate in a way that will resonate with the person being read and also learning the professionally behind delivering very personal information to someone. All the mediums will sit and meditate and receive information from spirit, and deliver the information they got to the stranger that came to be read.
Sometimes in these circles, the stranger will be read but each medium will have loved ones trying to come through as well and we all would end up doing readings for each other. Everyone would go into it with no expectation of who comes through, trusting the information you receive and learning how to deliver it to someone. I am so happy I experienced doing circles. At first, it was very intimidating, but It helped me come out of my nervousness and was so nice to be around like-minded individuals. I know that one day I will be hosting them myself!
Where can you see yourself within the next 3-5 years?
I can see myself adding a few different avenues to my business! I love mediumship and will continue to do readings. I see myself being so busy I will have a wait list! Also, I can see myself doing more intuitive coaching and motivational speaking. In 5 years I imagine that I will have my own office space to host workshops, events and sell spiritual based products. I also hope to host my own workshops in Bali.
I will have my blog and be able to help people on a wider scale through sharing my experiences and spiritual wisdom. There are so many opportunities ahead and I am just getting started! All very exciting and the possibilities are endless!
What strategies do you have in place when looking at the expansion of Miss Intuition?
Some strategies I have in place when looking to expand my business are to continue to make an impact through social media. Social media is an amazing outlet for growing a business, and I will take full advantage of that and will continue to have that as a major focus moving forward.
I have plans in place to collaborate with many different businesses for exposure and also collaborate with people in my community to host different spiritual based events. I plan on getting into more video content to feel more connected and authentic to the audience I have and to generate new relationships with people from all over. I also plan to release a blog within the next year, to have that as another outlet to share wisdom with others and through that gain more clients looking for more individual guidance. One of the biggest strategies I have is to stay real, authentic and true to myself. The more real you are, the more others can relate and will want to stay connected with you. It sounds cliché, but it is so powerful and so true.
Can you tell us what areas you have struggled in professionally?
Where I find I have struggled professionally was getting comfortable putting myself out there, I was very shy and nervous in the beginning and it really held me back from growing. I also struggled at the beginning with trusting the information I was receiving from spirit. This was a huge roadblock for me for a little while as not trusting only hinders your abilities and you don’t grow from having the doubts. It is completely normal at the beginning for most mediums to have a hard time trusting what they are picking up, and with time you grow out of that. It’s defiantly been the hardest thing for me to overcome.
Have you ever had any other mentor? If so how has this benefitted you to grow?
I have had a mentor who really helped me in the beginning. She hosted the mediumship circles and she was a great person to go to with any questions, or struggles. She is very experienced and was able to push me out of my comfort zone.
She really helped me overcome my nervousness and taught me to speak more confidently. I honestly don’t know where I would be today if I didn’t have her. She taught me so much, and I am so grateful I had her to support me in the beginning, the most difficult stage of the journey. Without her, I don’t know that I would have had the confidence to keep going. Having a mentor while starting out in mediumship and using your abilities is crucial. I wouldn’t recommend that someone ever goes into this without having one for support.
What outlets do use to market the Miss Intuition?
Outlets I have used to market my business is social media of course, but it mostly has been by word of mouth. I do my best to give everyone a memorable experience so that they can pass my information along to others who need guidance. This has generated most of the clients I have had, and with that, I also get a lot of clients from the exposure of Facebook and Instagram. I have also placed my business cards in like-minded businesses and shops.
Which methods are you using to build your own support network?
I am using podcasts as a method of building my own support network. I have found huge relief and support in listening to like-minded people, and people who have the same abilities I do, or are already doing some of the things I aspire to do one day. When I need support, I have been turning to podcasts a lot more. I am grateful for my boyfriend, friends, and family that support me, and I will always have them behind me as well.
What do you believe are the common misconceptions about clairvoyancy and how are you using your platform and voice to educate people more?
There are quite a few misconceptions about clairvoyancy. Clairvoyants are also known as being a psychic. People can have the wrong idea about a psychic reading, and just like any other business, there are frauds out there that ruin it for the professional ones. People can go to a clairvoyant/psychic and take what they say way too seriously. There are psychics that are the real deal. They can absolutely predict things no one would otherwise could have. There are professionals out there who have even helped solve cold cases or find missing people.
A misconception that often comes up is that whatever the psychic says, must be true. Most professional clairvoyants will be very accurate, however people tend to forget that as much as there is the possibility to predict, there is also free- will choose. For example, a clairvoyant might say they see you have a wedding in two years, meanwhile, you have been dating someone for 5 years. You are then assuming she must have meant with my boyfriend because you were planning on getting married. A couple months later, suddenly your boyfriend breaks up with you out of the blue. Then two years later, there you are marrying someone else. It doesn’t mean the clairvoyant was wrong about the wedding, but the sudden rational choice of your ex may not always be predicted. He had a choice and chose to leave the relationship.
This can also be predicated however not always! People need to go in with more of an open mind and remember that everyone has free will choice. Take what the clairvoyant says with a grain of salt. Clairvoyants do know a lot, but they won’t always know every single thing. I will use my platform to educate people on what exactly the ability is, and what it is really like. I know I can speak more in detail about what they may not understand or clear up any expectations they may or may not have.
What would you like to see changed for millennials in business?
What I would like to see change for millennials in business is seeing more support from banks. Its’ extremely difficult to get any sort of financial support when you have your own business, and it’s making it impossible for people like me to get a mortgage or even a small loan. I would like to see that change for all the people trying to run their own business and needing more support if they don’t have it elsewhere. Also, I would like to see millennials be given more opportunities with entry-level jobs to be able to at least get their foot in the door to gain experience. I see many millennials have gone to school for 4+ years to only end up working in retail because they don’t have 10 years’ experience already.
What is the best piece of business advice you have received to date?
The best piece of business advice I have received so far in my journey was learning that working more or harder doesn’t necessarily mean you’re being productive, working smarter and slower always have the biggest impact on your business. There are ways you can be more productive while doing less.
What is the number 1 critical lesson you have learned in your career so far?
One critical lesson I have learned in my journey so far is to never doubt the value I bring to the table. I have let people take advantage of my time and energy and I learned I was not holding myself to the value I deserve. To speak up when you are feeling you are being taken advantage of and to stand your ground from the beginning. It only gets more difficult as time goes on.
How do you create an evenly balanced work and personal life?
Growing up I was never a planner, but now I have really found that planning ahead, with a daily planner, is so helpful for my sanity and being able to achieve work-life balance. Since I am able to create my own schedules, I make sure I am not overworking myself and leave room for my personal life, family, and friends. I know my limits now, whereas in the past I did not. Now I know what will be too much for me, and I work around it. I also stopped saying yes to things I didn’t want to do. That has majorly helped me balance my life out.
The highlight of your career so far?
The highlight of my career so far has been in smaller ways. I am still in the beginning stages of my career and have so much opportunity coming my way. I am young, and I know there will be many highlights along the way! As of right now, I can think of many small highlights I have had, and those to me are the most meaningful right now. One of the highlights would be launching my website. I worked really hard on creating it and it was exciting getting a lot of kinds, encouraging feedback from people when I launched it. So much more to come!
What gives you ultimate career satisfaction?
The ultimate career satisfaction for me is seeing people genuinely light up with the messages I receive for them. There is nothing truly greater than seeing tears of happiness or relief in someone who is struggling. Or when they take the guidance I have given them and make positive changes in their life. This will always be my ultimate satisfaction.
What challenges have you seen to have been presented during the growth of your business?
Some challenges I have had presented during the growth of my business are having people committing to an appointment with me and then canceling last minute. It is enviable that this will happen. I am super understanding and truly believe that it was not meant to happen that day however it does affect my business as that particular time and date could have been for someone else. Since having learned to believe in my own value and worth, I really take my time and energy more seriously and have made adjustments to how I operate and book appointments with possible cancellations in mind.
Another challenge I have faced during the growth of my business is realising how many people actually don’t know about energy healing. Reiki Healing is well known in the spiritual communities and has become more popular, but I have been surprised by how many people don’t know about it and don’t understand what it is. It is only more motivation for me to use social media as an outlet to use my voice and teach people what they don’t know! This could create more interest in that niche and drive more business in general.
Which other leading entrepreneurs and pioneering game changers do you also admire and why?
I admire Gabrielle Bernstein a lot. for years she has been someone I have looked up to. I really resonate with her beliefs, and her wisdom just sings to my soul! I love her confidence and admire her speaking abilities. She has created a huge community of people that admire her and she truly has changed so many lives! She is #goals
What is a good article or book you have read recently?
A good book I have read recently was ‘Judgement Detox’ by Gabrielle Bernstein. It’s a very well known book of hers. It has such profound wisdom around judgment and it was super helpful and transformational. Life changing perspective.
Top 3 go-to Podcast channels?
- ‘The Balanced Blonde’ podcast by Jordan Younger who is the host, she is so real and I love all the topic she covers. Its health, wellness, and spirituality.
- ‘Almost 30’ podcast. Two very funny, real chicks and so much fun to listen to. They cover all kinds of topics but cover a lot of relatable topics that have you learning lots!
- ‘Your Own Magic’ by Raquelle Mantra the host, she is such a wonderful person to listen to, she is full of wisdom and has a lot of amazing guests. This is also spiritually based podcast.
How do you measure your own terms of success?
I measure my own terms of success by asking myself to look at my growth month to month. I also measure my success by the speed of the readings. When I first started I was a bit slower at picking up information from spirit, and now I am much quicker and fluent. I find as time has gone on, I have had more and more referrals which only means I am successful in what I am doing. If that ever slows down, then I can re-evaluate what I can do to bring more people in to see me!
What does #BEYOUROWN mean to you?
#BEYOUROWN to me means, really owning who you are, what you love and where your passions lie. Being an advocate for yourself and your life. We can get lost in finding our identity in things or people that aren’t truly us, and be your own just means you are comfortable with who you are and living true to you.
Lastly, what is next for you?
What’s next for me is continuing to do readings to gain more and more experience, and in the new year, to host more workshops. In the new year, I will be tackling a lot of new goals and ideas that have been in the works, and I am so excited about everything that is coming. I have so much of my career ahead of me, what’s next is overwhelmingly exciting!
