#BEYOUROWN MEETS ELIZABETH DIALTO

Wild Soul Movement™ is both a women’s movement and movement practice, with an accompanying virtual program called POWER that over 1200 women worldwide have participated in.

Both are designed to melt away everything that’s ever made you feel wrong, ashamed, less than, or unsafe as a woman, or in your sacred body. It’s not about working out, it’s about working in. It’s not about pleasing others, it’s about being pleased with yourself.

Together we redefine the rules, expectations, culture, and conditioning that have separated you from your womanhood and your body. This is a path to power, trust, and freedom within. It’s the permission and stability you’ve been craving but unsure of how to achieve.

Known for her raw, honest, and grounded approach to self-help and spirituality, Elizabeth DiAlto is a practical mystic, creator of Wild Soul Movement, an author, and the host of the popular Truth Telling with Elizabeth DiAlto podcast. She’s been a teacher, leader, speaker, coach and trainer to groups and individuals for 16+ years in three different industries.

Elizabeth works with women internationally through her digital programs and speaking engagements and more intimately through in-person intensives, retreats, workshops. Her greatest mission in this life is to help those who identify as women worldwide to reclaim and redefine their own womanhood, and contribute to a new paradigm of culture where it is both safe and natural for women to love, trust and accept themselves fully.

In 2013, Shape Magazine listed her alongside Dr. Oz, Ellen, Jillian Michaels, Tim Ferriss and more as a Top 30 Motivator. She has written for and been featured in Marie Claire, New York Magazine, SELF, Shape, The Huffington Post, US News and Health Report, Yahoo! News and many more. Before developing the current work she does with women, Elizabeth was a nationally-ranked Sales Rep and District Manager for Vector Marketing (with over $1 million in sales to her credit), a certified personal trainer, group exercise instructor, and nutrition coach. She’s a Reiki Master, has completed Energy Mastery training with Energetic Solutions, and is an avid student of many spiritual traditions and sacred lineages.

Aside from being a prolific creator and community builder, she’s an insatiable learner and a sensualist who loves spas, bathtubs, dancing (especially salsa!), reading, traveling, spending time in nature, and she has a laugh that has been described as, “a sound bath of sunshine and JOY.”

What is a day in the life of you like?

Sometimes in this order, sometimes not – wake up, journal my initial morning thoughts or any leftover memories from dreams I had, pee, meditate (I do transcendental meditation), drink water, drink Ketones, do a bit of Wild Soul Movement, do my mystic journaling practice. Get on with the day.

Getting on with the day may look like coaching calls, podcast interviews (hosting or being interviewed), creating content, virtual or in-person meetings with collaborators, colleagues or peers, a walk, workout or both, making or grabbing a few simple meals, going on a date, meeting up with a friend or reading, relaxing and catching up on a show or a comedy special in my queue.

What was the concept behind launching POWER – A virtual program that over 1200 women worldwide have participated in?

POWER provides a grounded and loving practice in self-discovery designed to get all parts of you in right relationship with each other. The aim is to meet you where you are and guide you to where you want to be while always keeping the primary focus on cultivating your trust and faith in the idea that everything you’ve ever needed has always been inside of you.

I learned to love myself and my body by stripping away at everything that was preventing me from seeing what already was, and my purpose is to teach others to do the same.

The core practice that anchors in the power experience is Wild Soul Movement, a sensual movement practice designed to help women get out of their heads and into their bodies. And, it all ties together with a strong community of women who are brave enough to stand up and say yes to a new way.

How is Wild Soul Movement funded, is it bootstrapped, self-funded ect?

Bootstrapped!

Can you tell us more about your brand DNA and ethos at Wild Soul Movement?

Our manifesto does that perfectly: THE WILD SOUL WOMAN MANIFESTO

An invitation to live into, a practice, a dedication, a pledge.

I am a woman, not a lovelier version of a man. I am devoted to loving myself in an untamed way – through cultivating self-acceptance, awareness, knowledge, respect, and trust. I am committed to discovering and living into my ever-evolving truth. The truth of what it means to be a woman in the 21st century. The truth of what it means to be me, the me that I am, not that society, culture, family, government, religion or other structures have dictated to me. I am discerning.

I listen to my wild soul and trust her innate wisdom and guidance.

I have boundaries. I do not sacrifice myself for the benefit of others. I say no when I mean no and yes when I mean yes. I am just as worthy of my own time, energy, and attention as all of my loved ones. I am a loved one. I do not need others to be different or agree with me for me to feel ok. I do my best to respect others’ beliefs, opinions, cultures, choices, self-expression, and sexuality, even if I don’t understand. I am a global sister. I am a safe place to land for all life and all people. I know that it’s not all about me, but that it does start with me and I happily accept responsibility for my own life.

I am a work in progress and a work of art.

My body is sacred. I am willing to have courageous conversations. I embrace my uniqueness, my power, my beauty, my creativity, my inner fire, my passion, my fierceness, and my softness.

I reserve the right to change my mind. When I want to be harsh with myself I choose gentleness instead. I honour the earth and all her creations. I am unashamed. I trust that my temporary circumstances never have to be my permanent reality. I am a powerful creator. I am receptive. I am a force for expansion, for love, and for good. I am a Wild Soul Woman.

You also host a podcast channel ‘Truth Telling’ can you tell us the most important snippet you want your audience to take away from each session?

There’s a lot of noise and ignorance in our current culture. This podcast aims to cut through that by exploring the truths of a diverse range of incredible voices. From authors, artists, creatives, and educators, to activists, speakers and those in various scientific and esoteric fields – our guests hail from cultures and countries all over the world. Expect courageous conversations that range from insightful, uplifting and illuminating, too uncomfortable and sometimes even confrontational. Each episode invites you, with a ton of love and respect, to listen with your heart and mind wide open. You never know when a perspective might click into place like the puzzle piece you’ve been searching for OR, didn’t even know you were missing.

Can you tell us how you are helping to redefine the rules, expectations, culture, and conditioning that have separated us from our womanhood and body through Wild Soul Movement and POWER?

In a word: EMBODIMENT.

Women function so much in their heads being governed by their thoughts and beliefs which trigger their emotions. Some have the tools to handle all of that and many do not. What’s harder is, often the thoughts, beliefs, and emotions are determined by programming they may or may not have ever agreed to or agree with. By providing women with practices and tools to get out of their heads and into their bodies, to learn how to be discerning, trust themselves and have boundaries, they are able to own and embody their power in new ways. This allows them to take control of the things in their lives that are controllable, learn how to surrender the rest and function in a much more trusting, aligned, enjoyable way through life regardless of external circumstances. It’s a path to inner peace and inner wisdom.

Can you highlight 3 tips on how we can redefine our own womanhood?

  1. Have at least one deep committed practice. Too many people are seeking and consume too much without integrating and implementing what they learn to create better experiences and outcomes in their lives.
  2. Explore what womanhood actually means to you. Learn the difference between what culture has dictated to you and what is actually the true expression that lives within you.
  3. Find a community of like mind-hear-souled women you can support and be supported by. Doing it on your own is very hard.

Who does the team involve behind you at Wild Soul Movement?

Minimal. I consistently work with a project manager and a virtual assistant. Every other need I contract out as it arises.

Where can you see yourself within the next 3-5 years?

Personally – I’ll be fluent in Spanish, finally and spending a lot more time in places that allow me to connect to my Latin roots – Puerto Rico, Miami, Mexico, and Spain. I may or may not still live in Los Angeles. I’ll likely still be traveling a lot annually to run Wild Soul Movement weekend workshops and run teacher training. I’ll be more established in my stand up comedy career which is something I started doing for fun six months ago, and I’ll likely have an amazing partner if not a handful of incredible lovers. Relationship types are something I’m currently exploring with a lot of curiosity.

What strategies do you have in place when looking at the expansion of the Wild Soul Movement?

This is where the “practical mystic” comes in in my bio. I pray a lot. I journal a lot. I listen to what the Divine offers me and I execute on it. So in terms of “strategy,” my strategy is to focus on service and model the principles my programs and experiences teach. I do this through the podcast and social media. And each year when I open enrolment for POWER in Nov and Dec, I come up with a beautiful, creative, good feeling way to invite people to join me for the following year. I’m still working out the best way to get people to our live workshops.

Can you tell us what areas you have struggled in professionally?

Really truly deeply trusting myself and learning the rules so I could break them. I’m really not into a lot of marketing practices a lot of my peers and colleagues use. For a lot of years, I kept feeling like there was something wrong with me and I should just do what they were doing. I’d get some results but not the same as others and wonder what was wrong with me. The answer is, I’m just not built for cookie-cutter anything. I call what I do now and what I trust the #ishineyoushine effect. By doing my own thing and following my divine guidance and intuition I give other people permission to do the same. It’s not conventional, but it consistently works for me much better than anything else.

Have you ever had any other mentor? If so how has this benefitted you to grow?

I’ve had a few mentors over the last 8 years and to be honest, most cumulatively, the biggest lessons have come in the form of what I mentioned earlier, “learning the rules so I could break them.”

What outlets do use to market Wild Soul Movement?

Podcast, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube.

Which methods are you using to build your own support network?

My dazzling personality? Haha. I just like to be out in the world connecting with people in a variety of places and environments. This has always served me well.

What do you believe are the common misconceptions about womanhood and how are you using your platform and voice to educate people more?

This question is actually the premise for my book Untame Yourself: Reconnect To The Lost Art, Power, and Freedom of Being A Woman, so it’s pretty hard to answer in a small space here. What I can say is that there are so many ways to embody and express womanhood and our collective culture really only honours and accepts a handful of them. So if you’re someone who doesn’t fall under one of the traditionally and socially accepted or sanctioned ways, you can be made to feel wrong or like you aren’t a ‘real woman,’ when truly WE ARE ALL REAL WOMEN, WE ARE JUST UNIQUE AND AMAZING IN OUR OWN WAYS!

What would you like to see changed for millennials in business?

I don’t know much about millennials in business, but I do know that typically whenever I hear anything about millennials it tends to be people giving them shit for merely existing and doing things differently than previous generations, so I guess I’ll say a little more acceptance and respect.

What is the best piece of business advice you have received to date?

That I have to enter the conversation people are already having in their heads.

What is the number 1 critical lesson you have learned in your career so far?

Self-trust.

How do you create an evenly balanced work and personal life?

I don’t believe in an even balance but I do believe in harmony. Due to the nature of my work, my insatiable curiosity and deep fascination with spirituality and all things esoteric, my work and my personal life overlap quite a bit. They don’t feel separate to me. It all complements each other and I’m grateful for this.

A seminal point in your career so far?

A photoshoot when I was still in fitness where they put so much makeup on me you couldn’t see my freckles, straightened my very curly hair, and even painted contour lines on my stomach even though I had visible abs. It made me realise that I was participating in the very problem I was hoping to help women resolve.

What gives you ultimate career satisfaction?

Hearing how people have made positive changes, grown, healed or transformed something in their lives by using anything I’ve put out into the world.

What challenges have you seen to have been presented during the growth of Wild Soul Movement?

Continuously coming back to trusting myself and not paying attention to what peers and colleagues do.

Which other leading entrepreneurs and pioneering game changers do you also admire and why?

The two people who come to mind are Brene Brown and Clarissa Pinkola Estes. Their bodies of work are deep, prolific and wildly impactful.

What is a good article or book you have read recently?

‘Becoming’ by Michelle Obama.

Top 3 go-to Podcast channels?

Confession: I don’t really listen to podcasts! I do love my friend Susana Frioni’s ‘Love, Sex, Desire’ though. I tune in when she’s interviewing someone on something I’m interested in or studying.

How do you define success?

The freedom to do what I want, when I want with whomever I want and the ability to be as generous as I want in the same ways.

What does #BEYOUROWN mean to you?

Everything. If I am not a woman unto myself I’m giving away my power and compliant with the outdated systems of patriarchy and oppression that got our culture to many of the deeply messed up places that we are. I am for my entire existence to be dissenting against these things. Sovereign. Whole. Trusting and loving myself fully.

Finally, What can we expect from you, Wild Soul Movement and POWER?

To keep growing and never quit.
