#BEYOUROWN MEETS SARAH ELIZABETH

Sarah Elizabeth is a charismatic wife, mother of two, and rad pet mom, whose contagious energy is a total force to be reckoned with! While taking a path well-travelled by many, from uncertain childhood to young motherhood, and soul-crushing divorce, she found herself at a crossroads; let her experiences define her or let them align her. Bravely, Sarah made the decision to let it fuel her intuitive, compassionate, and authentic way of living.

For years, she has served as a guru to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2018, she felt called to take the path the universe appeared to be directing her towards and intentionally began a journey of learning, discovery, and sisterhood. Sarah is a Holy Fire 3, level 2, Reiki Practitioner, plant mom, and serial entrepreneur. With her determination, quick wit, and passionate soul, she has confidently moved towards a way of living that focuses on alignment over the “hustle” of everyday life.

Hand in hand with her family, and her incredible sisterhood, she has launched her business Woke Herbalism and Healing as her outlet for personal growth and a safe space for all to join, connect, heal, and align.

Thank you for joining us Sarah can you tell us a little bit about your background story as a Reiki practitioner and serial entrepreneur?

I had been on this path of healing myself of past experiences when I came across Reiki as an option of energy healing. I didn’t know a ton about it, so I started researching and looking in my areas for Practitioners. It was actually my sister who recommended I see Lindsay Mae, who is a Master Reiki Practitioner and Mentor. From the moment I walked into her practice I could tell was she was a warm hug of a woman. Our relationship just blossomed over a 4 month period and when she posted Reiki Training that she was offering I knew I had to join. She then became my Reiki and Business mentor and the rest is history!

I am the middle of 4 children so I have been pretty much hustling since birth! I have always used side hustles as a means to provide for my children especially after my divorce since I didn’t have many options, and my full-time job just wasn’t cutting it. I am constantly learning and evolving in the things that I offer, but so far my latest adventure is what has my heart.

How would you say the well-travelled path, crushing divorce and life experiences have helped to shape the person you are today and reflect what you do?

All of my life experiences have given me the opportunity to be able to connect with people from all Walks of life. It doesn’t matter the environment, event, occasion; I will, without a doubt, be able to find someone I can connect with. I am fortunate because I let those situations mould be into the superpower of a person I am today, instead of letting those traumas and experiences define me as a person and eat me up inside. I learned that anything is possible with positivity and perseverance and that the only person that can stand in your way of achieving your goals is you.

You launched Woke Herbalism and Healing, as an outlet for personal growth and a safe haven for all to join, connect and heal. How can we join and what are the benefits we can take away from being part of the hub?

Right now the mayor outlets to join the collective are Instagram @woke.healing, Facebook: Woke Herbalism and Healing or via my website www.thewonderingmomlife.com

The responses I have gotten so far is that in those spaces people get to see that they are not alone. I post and share my personal story and things lots of people are thinking but don’t usually say. I  love the interaction I get from the people that come to the pages or subscribe to the blog. We are all just women trying to make a difference in some way or form and its comforting to have your own little army of crazy kick-ass women that support that bigger picture.

Do you have any current mentors? If so, what are the benefits of having one and are you also open to mentoring others looking to pursue the same career avenue as you?

I do have a mentor, her name is Lindsay Mae and she currently runs Lindsay Mae Online and she offers coaching, mentorship, Reiki training, sisterhood- she is pretty phenomenal.

I got into mentorship when I started my Reiki training. Lindsay is my Reiki Master and was offering a business mentorship program along with training. I never thought much of mentorship before but I am forever grateful for taking that step and having someone who had blazed a trail for the type if Reiki we provide and the sisterhood that we aspire to create. It made my business transition very easy because she was able to guide and me through instances that she had already encountered.

I would love to support other women in the future, but 2020 is about personal and business growth before I add more to the many characteristics of Woke Healing.

What platforms are you using as marketing tools to promote Woke Herbalism and Healing?

I am currently using just Instagram and Facebook for Marketing. I am going to be in a co-author in a book called ‘strong and Free ll’ published by The Great Canadian Women co. so I will be using that as another source of marketing once it finishes late this year.

Do you currently use any apps or tools to help the functionality of Woke Herbalism and Healing?

One of the most valuable tools that I use for posting is an app called Preview. It helps me organise my posts, let’s me figure out my content and helps with saving my hashtags. It allows you to post directly to Instagram or Facebook right from the app which saves time. I have two kids, pets and a full-time job on top of all the other greatness that is Woke Healing so saving time is imperative.

Who is the most influential female powerhouse that you admire and why?

Way before I had actually read any of her books, Gabby Bernstein has always intrigued me. I have no idea why because to be candid, I didn’t know much about her. I was just drawn to the energy that she put off every time I saw something she put out. Until I started reading her books, and then I knew exactly why. Her outlook on life, and how simple changes in your day to day activities can actually align you to your greater purpose much quicker then you can imagine. I started with “the universe has your back” and I have more pages dog-earred in that book then any other that sits on my shelf, And look! Here I am, chatting with you!

If you could tell your 18-year old self a solid piece of advice, what would it be?

I would have told me to always be kind over cruel, that community over competition is the only way to go. That not everyone who does is wrong is a bad person, they are lessons, deal with them with grace. Stand tall for what you believe and never look to another person to validate your self-worth, you are the only person who walks in your shoes, know your greatness.

What does #BEYOUROWN mean to you?

It means having your own something that you can be proud to share with the world. It means waking up and consciously curating and being the boss of own destiny. It feels like freedom and togetherness all rolled into one.

What does 2020 look like for you throughout the rest of the year?

It looks like it’s going to be a wild ride, and I cannot wait!
