Sarah Hennigan is a pioneering Wealth Strategist, reshaping the landscape of Financial Planning for Women of the New Economy. With over two decades of expertise as a Certified Financial Planner and Adviser, she has dedicated herself to redefining the concept of financial planning in an industry often resistant to change.

Her mission is to redefine ‘Financial Freedom’ as ‘Financial Liberation’.  She is passionately committed to empowering women to reclaim their Sovereignty by becoming their own Financial Planner and ultimately the Architect of their unique Wealth Eco System.

Her vision transcends the mere accumulation of wealth; she says it’s about enabling women to generate what they need, when they need it, on demand and then grow their wealth in a way that aligns with their deepest values and priorities.

Sarah’s approach goes beyond the numbers. She advocates for the judicious use of resources, aligning time, energy, attention, and money to create a lifestyle that is uniquely fulfilling. As a self-described futurist, she stays abreast of the latest technological advancements, integrating them into her philosophy of Financial Liberation.

A key aspect of her methodology is disentangling from the pervasive ‘Money Culture’ that equates worth with wealth and perpetuates the myth of scarcity and never-ending pursuit of more. Sarah brings transformative tools to her clients, essential for these transformative times.

Her unique blend of financial expertise and esoteric practices, predominantly Human Design and Astro Numerology, forms the bedrock of her holistic approach. This approach aids her clients in crafting personalised Financial Plans that support the development of Sustainable Businesses aligned with their Soul’s Curriculum—a business model that empowers her clients to ask for what they need in exchange for what they have to give. Sarah is the go-to Wealth Strategist for Women who are ready to step up and take their seat at the table, in creating the future they want their children to be living in.

Can you introduce yourself?

I like to think of myself as a Soulful Wealth Strategist.  I’m deeply committed to transforming the way women approach and manage their wealth, and, with over two decades experience as a Certified Financial Planner and Advisor, I’ve had the privilege of guiding numerous clients towards realising their financial goals and objectives. My philosophy, however, extends beyond simply arranging financial products; it’s about helping my clients to create a financial plan that aligns with their core values and dreams for their life.

Can you take us through your journey to where you are now?

I started my career in Financial Services over 20 years ago and what I realised over those years was that our relationship with money is never actually about the money. Our financial situation is a reflection of a complex web of beliefs, thoughts and behaviours and is intricately linked with our sense of self-worth, our sense of enough-ness and so many other hidden factors.

This took me down the path of wanting to explore further the inner aspect of money and over 10 years ago I qualified as a psychotherapist and then further developed my knowledge in areas such as Hypnotherapy, EFT, Financial Astrology, and Human Design (amongst other modalities).

My underlying belief is that, to enable us to create the most effective financial plan, we must have a deep understanding of who we truly are, and what is most important to us in life.   Each of these methodologies provide valuable frameworks for clients who are looking to delve deeper into this aspect of self so that, ultimately, they can align their financial plans with their deepest desires and values.

Have you made any changes to your business model?

I’ve recently taken a significant step by selling my offline regulated advisory business to establish an online platform. This move was driven by my commitment to reaching and empowering more women in their financial journeys. It’s my view that the traditional financial services industry often focuses primarily on those who have already amassed their wealth, frequently overlooking the vital aspect of income generation which is a crucial element in the financial planning process.

Unfortunately, this approach leaves a significant portion of the population underserved. My goal is to bridge this gap by dedicating my efforts to those who are in the wealth accumulation phase, ensuring they receive the guidance and support they need.

Have you had a mentor?

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with several mentors and coaches and their guidance has been invaluable in not only helping me define the vision for my business, but, also in providing me with accountability. This support has been crucial in ensuring I stay focused and aligned with my business objectives.

What outlets do you use for marketing?

I’m in the early stages of my online presence and my intention will be to focus on leveraging a blend of both traditional and digital platforms.

Primarily, I intend to utilise social media channels like LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook…. I have a preference for Instagram and will likely start there!!  Additionally, I will be creating a blog on my website and email marketing will play a significant role in my strategy, allowing me to connect on a more personal level with my clients and subscribers. I’m also one of the masters in a large community for business women who are looking to create sustainable businesses and I often post content in there.

I still believe in the power of community and in person networking, so, my intention will be to get more actively involved in local events and workshops.

What or who has inspired you most recently?

Recently, I’ve been most inspired by my mentor, Steve Conley from the Academy of Life Planning. He has some pretty, lofty, goals for ending world poverty and I find his commitment to the cause incredibly inspiring.

What was the best business advice you have received to date?

The most valuable business advice I ever received was to focus on one thing at a time…. Nothing revolutionary, but, I think it’s often the most simple things that can have the most profound impact!

As entrepreneurs, our naturally curious minds, often lead us down many rabbit holes which can make us at risk of wanting to pursue multiple ventures at the same time. This was a big one for me as part of my purpose is simply to pursue knowledge for knowledges sake and then to share what I learn!!!

However, thirst for knowledge can make things incredibly challenging to stay focused on one path and I always felt constrained by too much structure, preferring the freedom of spontaneity. But, what I realised was that focussing on one thing, organising my schedule and effectively managing time actually unlocked a greater sense of freedom than winging it ever would.

How do you create an evenly balanced work and personal life?

This is actually the cornerstone of the work that I do with my clients and therefore I have to walk my own talk. In a nut shell, my approach is about learning to effectively manage our key resources of time, energy, attention, and money this alignment is crucial for creating a sustainable business.

So, in my own situation, when I started this business I sat down with the following key steps:

Clarity around how I actually wanted my life to look, how many hours would I have available to work etc making sure I factored in all of the other things that were important (over and above work)

How much income do I need to support the life I want to live

Create my value ladder/financial architecture ie. the income model that will ensure I meet my financial goals

The planning part is crucial, but, equally important is to ensure that ‘everything’ goes in the relevant business tasks actually go in the diary.

A seminal point in my career was when I truly understood and embodied the idea that it’s never about the money.   From that moment, I knew I couldn’t ever truly get behind the message that the Financial Services Industry sells which is one often based around fear and scarcity.  This certainly didn’t happen over night. It was more a series of twists and turns and I stayed in the industry for many more years than I should have. But honestly, I truly believe, that, at any point in life, we’re exactly where we need to be.  So, no regrets.

What gives me ultimate career satisfaction? Being able to work in a way that is completely authentic and aligned with who I am/what I believe etc.

How do I define my own success?  Being able to live life on my own terms.  For me, it’s nothing too profound….  being able to pick up my little boy from school and take my mum for her shopping on a Friday. It’s about having choices.

What can we expect from you next?

So, looking ahead, my commitment is to, as far as is possible, keep head of the changing economic landscape!!  Over the next couple years(ish), from an astrological perspective, we have some pretty significant shifts with all outer planets changing signs. In terms of the global collective psychology, that’s big!!!

We also have the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in April, which is being hailed the transit of the year. This alignment is known for sparking innovation and breakthroughs and In Taurus, the sign that rules finance, there is also the potential for some pretty big shake ups in the financial world … think digital assets and decentralised finance, amongst many other things.

So, my mantra for the year is simply ‘Expect the Unexpected.’

With all of this in mind, my intention is to launch my membership, which will be all about empowering and supporting women of the ‘New Economy’ in their financial, personal and spiritual growth journeys. It will be a space where they can connect, learn, and thrive in an economy that’s rapidly evolving.
