As wedding planners, it’s important that every couple that comes to you for help ends up with the special day that they dreamed of regardless of the budget they have, and it’s also important to make sure that every wedding you plan is completely unique. But, after a while admittedly, it can be difficult to come up with new and innovative ideas to surprise your couple’s with, especially when they have a tight budget to stick to. So, we thought we’d put together a few of our favourite tips and tricks for planning a unique wedding on a budget!
Getting married outside of peak season
Now, as a wedding planner, it isn’t actually your decision to decide when the couple in question have their big day. But, as someone with knowledge of the wedding industry, it wouldn’t hurt to encourage them to get married outside of peak season (or mid-week/ in a less popular month) so that you have more budget elsewhere. You can also really play up to the season the wedding is (winter weddings, autumn weddings) with fun décor, what’s not to love!
Shop local
Encourage the couple in question to go for an eco-friendlier wedding and shop for local, organic products for a more unique occasion. Whether that be with the food and drink or with the wedding outfits etc. making the wedding eco-friendlier is a great way to make the big day unique whilst on a budget!
Thrift for your productsÂ
Thrifting for the big day is super trendy right now, and for good reason. Not only is it cheaper for couples looking to plan their wedding on a budget, but it also adds a unique aspect to the special day, as you can’t normally get thrifted pieces from regular shops. Plus, it’s better for the environment to buy your products second hand, what’s not to love about that!
DIY Décor
If you have the time to do so, crafting your own DIY pieces for the big day is a great way to cut back on wedding costs when the couple in question wants you to plan on a tight budget. There’s plenty of great ideas and inspiration online, so do your research and find some pieces that you can create yourself to save some cash!
Look out for special offers & discounts
Keep your eyes peeled for special offers and discounts from budget wedding venues and suppliers to ensure a unique event whilst also sticking to the budget provided. Most wedding businesses provide special offers and discounts around specific holidays (e.g. Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day), so keep that in mind when you’re planning a wedding on a budget.Â
There are tons of fantastic ways to make the weddings you plan stand out, even when working with a tight budget. It’s all about keeping in the know by doing your research and knowing how to spend smart, so to keep on track with the budget provided by the couple in question. We hope this blog serves as some great inspiration for the future weddings you plan!
