5 Ways Entrepreneurs Can Create The Right Mindset For Success By Maggie Colette

One of the biggest struggles women habitually experience at the start of their personal development journey is establishing a routine of success habits. It can easily be overlooked or underestimated in importance, when in reality, success is 80% mindset and only 20% strategy.

Having the right habits in place as part of a routine is fundamental to achieving success in all areas of life. Not only does it establish the foundations of a productive day, but by taking the time to explore which success habits work for the individual and building them into a routine, female entrepreneurs will be able to achieve mind-blowing things, both personally and professionally.

Maggie Colette, founder of Think Like A Boss, global independent Instagram® strategist and business coach shares 5 ways entrepreneurs can create the right mindset for success.

Intention setting

Setting and living your intentions allows you to focus on who you are in the moment and recognise and live your values. It also helps to raise your emotional energy, which in turn raises the physical vibrations you give off.

Intention setting is all about who you want to be, what you want to contribute to the world and how you choose to touch the lives of others. For instance, “I intend to work without any distractions” can be very powerful on a day you have a fully booked diary.

Gratitudes

Research has shown that gratitude is consistently linked with greater happiness. Often, we rush through life and don’t stop to appreciate the everyday things that we take for granted. The act of showing appreciation and thanks for what you have can go a long way.

Start with a list of five things you are grateful for today, then each day, add another to the list. It doesn’t have to be a big or complicated thing; “I am grateful I have a roof over my head” is a great place to start.

Affirmations

Positive affirmations are sentences that we compose to strengthen our beliefs. By writing them out and saying them out loud, we are training our mind to believe that what we are actually saying is the truth. For this reason, the language we use to ourselves should be chosen with care.

For instance, if you are constantly telling yourself that something is “too hard”, then you will struggle. Positive affirmation statements are written in the present tense. You could use statements like: “I am a money magnet”, “I am confident in everything I do”, I attract clients easily”.

Create a list of powerful positive affirmations that you want to be true, and choose 3-5 to say out loud to yourself each day.

Journaling

This doesn’t work for everyone, but the act of writing in itself is a fantastic stress reliever. By incorporating this into your routine with the other activities, you will develop a sacred space where you can be, do or write anything you want without judgement.

You can start the habit of journaling by taking time each morning to write down your intentions for the day, something you are grateful for, and your affirmations for the day. Other journaling activities include writing down how you are feeling, and any blocks or limiting beliefs you are experiencing.

Meditating

Dedicating a few minutes at both the beginning and end of your day to sit in silence and focus on your breathing can do wonders for your mental wellbeing, though it can often take a few attempts before you notice your mind start to quieten down.

Often as entrepreneurs your brain is running at a hundred miles an hour, and it can be useful to develop a way to train it to be quiet. Regular meditation will help you to cut out the noise and increase focus.

Exercise

Working out and moving your body is key to setting you up for a productive day. While it may not be the most appealing activity first thing in the morning, the release that comes from moving your body and sweating it out will give you that much needed energy boost while helping you to de-stress.

Studies have shown that exercise helps us produce chemicals in our body called ATP, boosting our energy for mental output.Â
