We are all aware of the Mind-Body connection and the importance of self-care but how many of us give a thought as to whether our Chakra’s, the spinning wheels of life force energy in our subtle body, are in balance? Unless we have a Mind-Body-Chakra connection Total Wellbeing and a High Energetic Vibration will be out of reach. It may sound a bit woo-woo but is based on Quantum Physics. We are vibrating cells of energy and imbalance in one Chakra, whether that is excessive energy/too open or deficient energy/sluggishness causes a blockage which then impacts our whole system.
Don’t worry, there are easy ways to identify imbalance and self-heal your Chakras. Here Wendy Molyneux, The Heartfulness Coach, shares her top tips for healing the Chakra imbalances that present most often amongst successful working women. There are 7 main chakras, from the bottom up with their Sanskrit names and associated colours – Root/Base (Mooladhara – Red), Sacral (Swadhisthana – Orange), Solar Plexus (Manipura – Yellow), Heart (Anahata – Pink/ Green), Throat (Vishudda – Blue), Third Eye/ Brow (Ajna – Indigo/ Purple) and Crown (Sahasrara – White/ Gold). Here are some common imbalances and what to do about them:
Perfectionists Root Down
Imbalance in the Root Chakra can manifest emotionally as being a fearful busy bee with a tendency to perfectionism, sometimes associated with joint problems as a result of carrying that burden. Try this simple Butterfly Yoga posture for a couple of minutes. Sit (on a cushion if needed) with the soles of the feet together, pull the spine upright, and relax the knees. Send every exhalation down through the base of the spine to the earth to release your worries.
Speak Your Truth
Many women in business wear a mask and hold back from true self-expression. This can manifest in persistent sore throats, neck ache, and thyroid problems as your words get stuck in your throat. As well as wearing the colour blue near your throat try this emotional release. Every morning circle two fingers at the front of your throat whilst really looking at yourself in the mirror and saying “I am enough. I stand in my power. I release my truth”. Repeat that 10x.
Love Life Problems?
Get Heartful Typically those with an imbalance in the Heart Chakra are performers who have issues around love/ self-love and look outside of themselves for it. Anxious Annie?
Those with an imbalanced Solar Plexus can be anxious and over-concerned with what others think. This anxiety is carried in the gut and often leads to digestive disturbance. Try massaging the acupressure point for calm in the anxiety moment to unblock the flow of Qi/Chi to release tension and restore inner harmony. HT7 is the point where your wrist forms a crease with your hand. Take your thumb and apply firm pressure to this point until you feel some mild discomfort. Hold this pressure point and gently knead your thumb in a tight circular motion for about 2 minutes. Do this to both wrists and you will feel your anxiety, stress and overall tension descend immediately.
